Jack's POV

Mark and I had been married for several months now, and life was pretty damn good.

We spent most of our day recording videos with each other. Then we would edit our videos together, cuddle and maybe watch some Netflix. (and some chill)

But whenever I was home by myself, the house was too quiet. Way too quiet. And as of lately, Mark had been gone most of the day.

Something was going on with the Cyndago guys; I wasn't sure what was going on. He wouldn't tell me and I was really worried. It had been 3 years since Daniel died. It hit Mark really hard.

I sat in my recording room editing videos. I stopped suddenly and realized how much I missed Mark. How much I wished he was here. I felt a crippling sense of loneliness.

I want a kid to take care of.

I don't know why that thought came to me, but it did. I quickly Googled local adoption centers. 'Life Time Adoption Center'. That one looked pretty good. I clicked on the link.

'Call an agent to adopt today!'

I chewed on the inside of my cheek. I was so tempted to call on the spot but my better judgement took over.

Talk to Mark about this before you do anything crazy, I thought to myself.

The front door swung open. Perfect timing, I thought. I rushed down staris but stopped suddenly. Mark looked really upset.

"Mark, hon, what's the matter?"

"Hm? Oh I don't think tha-..."

"Tell me, please."

Mark paused, then sighed.

"Daniel's mom is really sick."

Mark's POV

I swallowed hard. She had been sick for a while, but it hadn't been this bad. Ryan called me on Sunday saying Daniel's mom was in the hospital in L.A.

Everyday this week, I had made the hour long drive from San Diago to L.A to vist her. After Daniel had passed, she had become very close to me.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jack asked.

"You... you seemed too busy. You were always recording or editing when I came home."

"Mark..." Jack began.

"No, no it's... it's fine," I said quietly.

I turned to go upstairs and Jack grabbed my shoulder and turned me around.

He grabbed my face and forcefully pulled me in for a kiss. I tried to get away, but I couldn't.

Jack was so intoxicating. I relented and melted into his arms.

I felt something wet on my cheek. I wasn't crying, was I? No, Jack was.

I pulled away quickly.

"Sean...?"

He cried unlike I have ever seen him before.

Jack's POV

I cried, I couldn't stop myself.

I hurt him. Damnit Sean you're better than this. If you would have just paid attention, you would have been able to help. F*ck, you are useless.

"Sean."

I paused and looked up at Mark. He looked really worried. Mark studied me for a minute and immediately deduced why I had been crying.

"Don't beat yourself up over being busy. I know how hectic things can get. I should have told you."

"B-but I should have noticed." I choked out

Mark wrapped his arms around me tightly.

"Sh sh shh, it's ok Jackaboy."

My sobs reduced and I wiped my nose on my sleeve.

"C'mon, let's go get some hot tea." Mark said.

We walked arm in arm to the kitchen.

Mark's POV

I placed a cup of hot tea in front of Jack. I wish he didn't think so low of himself.

I sat next to him at the kitchen table.

"So tomorrow we can go see her at the hospital ok?"

"Alright," Jack said.

"She has been doing better, the doctors are putting a pacemaker in a couple days to help her heart."

Jack leaned his head on my shoulder.

There was silence for a minute.

"I've really missed you," Jack said quietly.

"Me too hon," I replied, rubbing his back.

Jack sat up suddenly. His eyes lit up.

"What is it?" I inquiried.

"I had this crazy idea," Jack began,

Jack's POV

Mark just stared at me with a blank expression.

"So, what do you think?" I asked nervously.

"Adopt a kid...?" Mark said thoughtfully.

I bit my lip. He didn't seem to enthusiastic about it as I was.

Suddenly Mark jumped out of his seat and picked me up. He started laughing, and so did I.

"Sean! That's a brilliant idea!" He exclaimed while spinning me around.

"The house is just too quiet." I said through laughter.

Mark, still chucking, put me down.

"So should I play more horror games then?" He asked.

I snorted. "A kid sounds much better."

Mark clapped his hands together.

"Alright, so 'Life Time Adoption Center' you say?"

"Yea let's schedule an appointment today."

"Sounds good Jackaboy, that sounds really good."
