"It was just another Friday when tragedy struck. No one in the Quentin family, especially Graham, thought that this would ever happen. The pain; The sorrow." I narrated to myself dramatically. All I wanted to do was come home from school, curl up on the couch, and eat Pringles and popsicles. But sadly my dreams were shattered as soon as I glanced into the kitchen. No chips were found, not even a crumb. Not that that would have helped anyway. The popsicle box was left empty on the counter from where I had pulled the last one out the night before during a sugar craving.

Well that settles it....I will die a painful, Pringle less death.

I heard the front door slam open and someone stagger in. I peeked around the corner to see my mom kick the door shut behind her, her arms full of personal belongings.

"Moooooooommmmm!!!!! Why are there no more Pringles in the pantry????" I wined.

"Maybe because you ate them all." My mom replied calmly, setting her stuff down.

"Weird how that keeps happening." I joked, leaning back against the wall. "Ok well, i'm gonna go grab more from the store. Do you need anything while i'm there?"

"No, you can't. There's A huge storm coming in from the South. I heard on the radio that it's gonna be bad." She said pulling a small blanket off the back of the couch and wrapping it around herself. "Have you not looked outside? It looks like the poster-child for an apocalyptic storm movie."

"Yeah I know! People were talking about it at school today. 'Storm of the century! Yada yada yada!'". Personally, I thought they were being a bit dramatic. And how often is the weatherman right anyway?

"Yeah, so pull your car into the garage in case it hails out." She said turning on the T.V.

"Come on mom! Chances are that the storm won't be here till' the middle of the night and i'll be back before then." I started to persuade.

My mom just ignored me and proceeded to turn on her program. 'Rude'. Looks like i'm gonna have to do this the hard way.

"Ok, fine. "I said turning away from her and walking towards the stairs.

"Ok?!You're just gonna give up? "My mom questioned unbelievably.

"Yes, dear mother." I slightly mocked as I walked upstairs

"Ok...ummm..see you later?" She mumbled from the couch, turning back to the T.V.

Right before I turned into my room upstairs I heard her mutter to herself, "What is she up to?"

I grin to myself as I think of my plan. I hate to go against my mom but I knew i'd be fine and would be back in the next half an hour. She would never have to know I was even gone.

I walked into my room and sighed since I couldn't remember where I threw my keys. I dug around for a minute until I located my wallet and keys and then slipped on my tennis shoes.

I walked over to my window which that has a tree right outside. I pulled the window open and removed the screen quickly. Due to my awesome skill, and the fact that I had been climbing out that tree for years,  I easily scaled the tree in seconds.

"Boo yah!" I whispered to myself. "Time to get this show on the road."
