Syzygy Aces

Chapter 2

I savoured my meal as if it would be my last. Well, maybe our last.

Smashed..

I was shocked as i saw how the remaining food was brushed off my plate.

"What the hell?!!!!" I shouted as I looked around for the assailant.

crackkkkk...

Maximus was having a fight with a red headed chubby guy!

I was so pissed that I turned purple. The crowd around them didn't mind what they were doing. Trees were cut making a way for them. We were outside the arena taking our break. The arena was located at the center of an island called Gamaras.

"Will you pleeasse stop!!!" I yelled at both of them. "Reserve your energies for our incoming fight!"

They seemed not to notice me. I watched them as they expertly swayed their weapons. They seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

That was my last banana cake... just thrown to waste by those bastards...I hate them both...

I looked around to find a place to rest and I saw an oak tree. I rested my head at its roots as I watched the leaves swayed as if dancing to the tune of nature.

The head master will soon announced the teams and its members. Maximus and I were the chosen ones to represent our land. We came from Irog, Eastern part of the realm. We were not the most skillful fighters since our master was assassinated before we finished our trainings. The elders just picked us up because they believed on our potentials, or maybe just to put us to our deaths.

"Hi"

I turned my head lazily towards the source of the voice.I smiled at the pale skinned lady standing behind me.

"Hi", I replied as I pushed myself up and sat down.

She reached her hand to me for a shake.

"I'm Reyn. I'm from Vila. Our place is located at northern realm." She really has a cheerful voice.

"You can call me Krish from Irog, Eastern realm."

I looked at her blue eyes. Her hair in ponytail was gray and has strikes of pale blue. She was wearing a navy blue pleated skirt about 3 inches above her knee and a pale blue venus-cut sleeveless blouse.

"Are you alone?", she asked and sat next to me.

"Nope. I have company who is busy fighting right now." I looked towards Maximus and his opponent. They were still doing great damages to the surroundings.

"I have my twin brothers with me", she said excitedly.

We chatted for a while and I felt comfortable with her on a short period of time.

"Who is this pretty lady?" Maximus approached us panting like a dog.

"I'm Reyn, from Vila."

She timidly smiled.

On the other hand, the red headed chubby guy arrived and extended his hand to Reyn.

"I'm Jaxmi, from the land Bena of the South"

"Oh! come on" Maximus felt irritated but suddenly changed his mood as he approached Reyn.

"Lady, my name's Maximus of Irog and I'm pretty sure we can go along so well" he kissed Reyn's hand.

"What's with the gesture? Portraying a knight?" I could not help but made an annoying sound.

Maximus gave me a sharp look as usual.

"Nice meeting you guys. It is nice to have friends from different realms. I hope we will have fun together in this gathering. I have to go for a while my brothers are looking for me by now."

She gave us  a smile and walked away.
