Chapter 6

I was stunned for a couple of seconds while looking at the ring in my hand. I blinked several times to see if I was just imagining things.

The ring still glowing. What does it mean?

I closed my hand and held the ring tight, its warmth traveled through me like an energy electrifying every cell of my body.

This is really strange.

I never felt this before. I closed my eyes and an image of a woman in my head appeared. She looked so much like me with purple eyes.

My child, I have waited for this moment. I'm so proud of you. I'm sorry if I left you when you were born but things were complicated for me as a mage. Soon you will know what I meant.

The image was gone. Tears flowed down from my cheeks. I really was filled with unexplained emotion. I just saw my mom. I spent hours sobbing and I forgot the time.

Jaxmi and Maximus found me crying my heart out.

"What's wrong? Did anyone hurt you?" Jaxmi seemed furious looking around.

Maximus shook my shoulders to wake my consciousness. I opened my eyes and saw them both, they were so worried.

"I'm okay."

"We were looking for you for quite so long. It's almost dawn. We have to go back to our camp" Jaxmi changed his mood from worried to hostile as soon as he heard that I was fine.

" Sorry guys for making you worry that much." I apologized.

We walked back to camp. Reyn ran towards us when we were at the entrance of the tent. She hugged me as though we never seen each other for decades.

"What happened? You look miserable! Let's get inside." She tried to comfort me as we went to my bed.

Shay, on the other hand, glance at us with a concern look on her face.

"I'm sorry if I bothered all of you because of my absence. It's just I've discovered something about myself and I have seen my mother for the first time inside my head. I think I have now my power to summon a spirit." I told them as they gathered around me.

"Well, that's nice. At least you're not useless after all. Can we rest now? We still have a fight to win." Voltai turned around and return to his bed yawning.

"See you in the morning." Reyn touched my hand and there was a faint glow that came from her palm. "This will keep you calm."

As soon as Reyn went out of my place, I slept like a baby. In a short while, everyone begun snoring.

I woke up early than the rest of the team. I wanted to test my power.

Can I summon a spirit?

I walked silently on the woods to find a serene place. I held the ring close to my heart and tried to summon a spirit.

spirit....spirit....hear my call...
come to thee....
and make me whole...

I waited for a couple of minutes. I'm so excited to see what my spirit looked like.

I waited for more.

This is so frustrating.

When I was about to lose hope, a woman with slight tan skinned appeared. She was wearing a sexy blue gypsy outfit with gold trimmings. Her wavy hair falls fashionably to her naked shoulders down to her belly. She was drop-dead gorgeous.

She was surprised to see me.

"Oh, I never thought someone will summon me for quite a long time! I really having a good time partying. This is so not the time but I'm glad I could lure around in this realm." She has a high-pitched tone of voice. The spirit eyed me from head to toe. "You looked ridiculous!...I'm expecting may mage will be as fabulous as I am "

"Spirit, are you mocking me?" I couldn't help it, I was in rage.

After I waited for a long time to summon my spirit, this is what I get?

"No, Silly! I'm just surprise to see that you're so young. Only a mage with great power can summons me. I only serve great mages you know." She blinked at me.

Great mages...great power?! Oh, I'm so proud of myself!

"Well, since we don't have much choice we should really get along." I sweetly smiled at her. "Sorry if I disappointed you but I am your mage and I'm honor to have you as my spirit guide. I may not be as good as your previous ones but I know you are meant to be with me. I believe that mage and spirit compliment each other and that's the balance both our worlds should follow. I'm Krish. I'm looking forward to have a great time with you."

She came closer.

"I'm Glenieze. I'll be your spirit guide and I'm 100% willing to have a pact with you." She smiled.

We held our fingers up high and a light came out. With synchronized moves, we touched and our contract was sealed.

She noticed the ring in my hand.

"That's is so familiar." She stamped her feet and had a deep thought.

"My mother left it to me." I was curious by the way she acted.

"Oh, that's why...." Her eyes brightened.

"You know my mother?"

"Yes deary!"
