Jordan sighed, and turned back towards the house, which Isaac had named "Betgoimven". Now of course, by that time, night had fallen, do it was a good thing Jordan remembered his sword. Monsters came out at night, harsh and bloodthirsty. These beings had mostly been victims of the Fallout, their bodies resurrected by the ethereal Nether entity known as the Wither, which the Tree Pigs worshiped.

Indeed, Jordan started hearing the groans of zombies and the clanking bones of skeletons, the hissing of spiders, and the silent footsteps of creepers.  A groan sounded behind him, and Jordan whipped out his sword, swinging it almost blindly and, the result being, the zombie behind him was dead, its body nearly chopped in half. This wasn't the end of it, Jordan could tell. He had alerted a couple of nearby skeletons and a spider, and they were hot his trail.

Jordan gripped his sword tightly, and placed his feet further apart for stability. He saw the angered spider crawling after him, and when it got close, it jumped. Jordan batted it aside and pivoted, dodging an arrow a skeleton had shot at him. Now the battle had truly started. Jordan bolted towards the skeleton that fired at him and gave it nice whack with his sword. The skeleton, being composed of bones held together by the remnants of dead skin, quickly fell apart, and was left in a pile of bones on the ground. The spider, in the mean time, had recovered, and was jumping at Jordan, pincers gaping wide. Jordan turned to face his foe, and the spider bit his arm. Jordan grunted in pain, and stabbed the spider in the abdomen, throwing it off. The second skeleton shot at him, and Jordan darted behind a tree. The arrow missed him by a hair, and the skeleton didn't have time to reload before Jordan had his sword through its chest.

Jordan hurried home and was safe in the torchlight. He entered the house, covered in blood, and alerted his brother, who was up working on smelting the ore he had mined that day. Isaac looked up at Jordan, and gasped.

"Jordan, are you okay?" he asked, trying not to sound alarmed.

"I'm fine, Isaac," Jordan assured him. "I had a little run in with a spider and a couple of skeletons, it's nothing to worry about."

"I don't mean to sound protective or anything, but you need to be a little more careful when your out on your own! Cierra would go mad if she found out you had died!"

"I'll tell her that there's nothing to stress over and that I'll be fine. Ventar chose me for a reason," Jordan told him. There really wasn't anything to worry about. Jordan had spent over a decade as Ventar's apprentice, and trained harder than any Mountain Cow who trained with him. at the moment, Venturian was the most feared name in the known realms.
