The Lightning Blade was an awesome weapon, and Jordan held it, not worried of what power it had. Cierra looked on as Bethany sprinted over to catch a glimpse of the legendary weapon. The sword crackled with electricity, causing the diamond crystal to glow.

"By the way," Jordan broke the silence. "I should explain why Ventar gave me this."

"I was just wondering that myself," Bethany pondered. "You aren't the most trustworthy person I've ever met, and I'm not just saying that as a tease."

"Well," Jordan explained, snickering. "I can tell you now, this wasn't favoritism. Ventar thinks I'm trustworthy enough to handle this. Besides, he only allowed me to have the Lightning Blade if I accepted the rank of general. I decided to take some responsibility, especially since Ventar can trust very few people nowadays."

"Well, after the betrayal of almost a fifth of the troops in the army the last time we had any problems with the other nations, Ventar's had a hard time knowing who to believe," Cierra remarked.

"The fact that other Mountain Cows revolted against the nation was surprising, and nothing like that had ever happened in the history of the nations," Bethany agreed. "It's no wonder Ventar is insecure with the people of the nation. He's gotten better about it, and at least Elise was there to encourage him."

"Elise is a very trustworthy and kind person," Jordan said. "I'm glad she's there for him when we're not here."

"Speaking of Elise," Isaac called from behind as he approached. "Elise is here right next to me."

Elise was in her human form, a beautiful brunette with a slim body, wearing a pink dress, and brown boots. She had a patient smile and eyes, green as emeralds. Her small, white horns curved inward. Her hands looked delicate, but her bones were sturdy as bricks.

"That compliment was very sweet, Venturian," she thanked him. "It's been so long since I've seen you four last! How have you been?"

"Well, aside from being kidnapped and tortured by Tree Pigs, I've been doing well," Jordan replied.

"I heard about the attack," Elise sympathized. "Just to be sure, I'd like to see how well your wounds are healing. Is that alright?"

"Of course it is, Elise," Jordan gave her permission. He trusted her, Ventar trusted her, almost everyone trusted her.

Elise lead the four of them to her office, where she did regular examinations. The hospital building was where emergencies her tended to. Elise's office was very clean, like most buildings in the Mountain Cow government and shops, but a healer's office was always clean by different standards. Everything was neatly organized and put away for when it was needed. Elise lead them into an examination room in the back of the building. She had no other patients at the time, so she was free to give her attention to Jordan's wounds alone.

Through careful, but thorough examination, Elise was able to determine how well the wounds had been treated, and how well they had been healing, both were well, and about halfway through the examination, Ventar called for Elise from the front office.

"Elise! May I enter, or am I interrupting something?"

"It's all right, Ventar," Elise called back. "I am in the middle of something, but it isn't a problem."

Ventar found his way to the room, knocked on the door, and entered.

"Ventar," Jordan acknowledged.

"What are you doing here?" Ventar asked with a confused smile.

"Elise offered to examine Jordan's wounds to see how they were healing," Cierra explained.

"Honestly, Bethany did an excellent job," Elise reported. "And Jordan's burns are healing very well. How long ago was the incident?"

"Five days ago," Jordan informed her.

"Only five days ago?" Elise repeated. "You've recovered rapidly!"

Jordan smiled, knowing that the road to recovery was a short one this time.
