Jordan gently grasped the hilt of the diamond sword, and rested the blade in the palm of his left hand. Taking the blade, he felt the weight of the crystal blade until it felt comfortable. He raised the blade in his right hand, taking a light battle stance. Satisfied, he took a deep breath, and looked to Ventar, who nodded. Taking another deep breath, Jordan set the crystal blade on top of the book of enchantments. The sword magically levitated off of the book. The book flipped open and began to glow vibrant colors of red, blue, purple, and green.
The page turned once more, and revealed six enchantments, each spelled out in ancient, unreadable runes.
"Choose whichever spell calls to you," Ventar instructed. "Whichever one you're drawn to."
Jordan looked over every spell, knowing that the spell he would choose would be drawing in his attention. When he came across the last spell, his heart began to pound. Jordan found himself drawn towards the runes, as if they were calling to him in an ancient language.
Jordan, hands shaking, reached out to the runes at the bottom of the page, and ran his fingers along the runes, lighting them up.
As the last rune was lit, magical mist rose up, and the runes lifted off the page, entering the mighty sword, filling it with magical power. After the last rune touched the blade, the sword crackled with energy, lighting up the small room, creating a small lightning cloud, which dissipated, leaving the room back in darkness, and the sword was resting on the closed book, as Jordan had set it. Now, the blade glowed blue and yellow, and lightning bolts coursed through it. Ventar seemed at a loss for breath, and Jordan was stunned.
"Jordan... Venturian..." Ventar breathed. "The enchantment that called to you... was... what I thought was only a myth... this sword is now a legendary weapon, enchanted with the legendary enchantment, Lightning Aspect!"EDIT:
Cierra looked across the town, and saw young Mountain Cows playing. There were normal houses up here on the top of the mountain, and thus, young Mountain Cows were playing games with some of the young humans that had been sheltered here, and had sworn their loyalty, just as she and her siblings had done. She had never known why Jordan was so loyal to Ventar, but he had told the three of them stories explaining why he was so loyal.
Cierra looked on, smiling. They wouldn't understand how serious war was until they were older. However, one human boy caught her eye. He wasn't playing with the others, despite them pleading him to play. He looked depressed, and he was the oldest of the group. He looked lost in thought, and Cierra could see the look of wonder in his eyes, reminding her of Jordan. He was always thinking about the future and the past, as he had dreams of both at different times, and at the same time.
Cierra looked at the boy closer, and recognized him as Isaac's future apprentice, Allistaire. Cierra didn't know if he even knew what his own last name was, like most of the humans with the Mountain Cows. Cierra had forgotten hers, and the only one of the group that knew their last name was Jordan, as he was the only one who was old enough to remember the death of their parents, as at the time, he was seven. Cierra only vaguely remembered anything about their parents, she didn't even remember their names. Thinking of this, she finally understood what Allistaire was thinking about.
Allistaire was very mature for his age, and he understood the depth and darkness of war. He admired Jordan, and strived to be as great a battleaxeman as Isaac. He worked hard toward the cleverness of Cierra, and the loving intelligence of Bethany. He wanted to have strong qualities that each of the siblings had. He also refused to call Jordan anything other than "Venturian".
"Cierra!"
Cierra heard Jordan call her name, and turned to face him. He was holding a diamond sword, that crackled with energy, and she was both in awe, and confused.
"This is the Lightning Blade, and I am it's master." Jordan told her.
"It's... master?" Cierra breathed. She had never seen a sword of such power, and now it was in Jordan's possession! "How did you get this?"
"Ventar trusted me to be able to enchant this with an enchantment of my choice, and it turned out to be Lightning Aspect."
"A LEGENDARY ENCHANTMENT!?!?" Bethany shouted, coming from across the way. She ran over, astonished that something like this happened.
"It's all true!" Jordan exclaimed with a smile.
Cierra turned back to where Allistaire was, but he was gone.
