Assassin's Creed Unity: Arno and Élise

Questioning the Creed

We arrived at the same place where I became an Assassin, where I fought and tué Bellec.

"Are you sure he's here?" Élise asked.

"Yes I'm sure. Saint-Chappelle has many events that have happened here. Alphonse is here." I explained.

"Well then let's get in there." Answered Antoine but, I stopped them.

"No, let me do this." I insisted.

"ARNO THIS IS ABSURD!!!!!" Yelled Élise.

"Élise I have to do this alone. I may not win but, I need to at least understand, understand why a man would do this." I explained.

They all had discomfort in their eyes but, they let me go on ahead. Inside, I saw Alphonse waiting for me.

"So, we meet again." He said.

"Why? Why kill innocents and fellow brothers and sisters?" I asked.

"You'll find out soon enough. Then and only then will you understand me." He answered and we clashed.

We were equally matched. I tried looking for points faibles but, Alphonse was too well guarded I then clashed his sword with mine, activated my hidden blade and slashed his left eye. He wouldn't be able to see out of it anymore.

"We're no different from murderers Arno. No different from Templars." He explained.

"We fight for paix et la liberté. Not for contrôle." I told him and he just laughed.

"Yet the men you've killed were innocent people trying to get by in the world. So let me ask you this: If you had to kill Élise would you? Are these people really worth killing for? What are you gaining by accomplishing Assassin goals?" He asked and it made me think, made me believe that maybe Alphonse was right but then, he slashed my chest, dislocated my shoulder, and kneed me to the ground.

It felt like it was the end but, Alphonse let me live to grow stronger and to answer his questions. I blacked out from the fight.

When I awoke, I was in the a hospital for Assassins. The nurse came and made sure I was alright.

"You're free to go, bonne journée." The nurse said and I left to meet the gang.

"Arno, you're alright." Benjamin said with relief.

"What happened? Where's Élise and Alphonse?" I asked them.

"Élise went to go find Alphonse." Auguste answered.

"Alphonse ran away saying for you to come find him when you're ready. Another thing, there's a traitor in the Order. It makes sense how Alphonse was one step ahead." Antoine explained.

I quickly got dressed and went to find Élise. I grabbed her from almost shooting an innocent.

"Arno! You're alright!" She yelled with relief.

"Of course just a little rayures." I told her.

"Je t'aime." She said and we kissed each other but, Alphonse had a point.

What do I really achieve by doing Assassin entreprise? I thought to myself, questioning the Creed.
