Hey guys. New book new way to distract myself from being depressed. Guess what? I did a depression test and I got 73. Yep... Anyway hope you enjoy. Frerard never dies.
Side note: I'm a better 1st person writer so yeah... carry on.
Gerard's POV
I can't win.
It doesn't matter whether it's a race or a test or something that everyone wins in. I cannot win. And I suppose you are wondering, what is this 18 year old emo dude talking about? Well it's a little something called depression. Severe depression that I've had since a tragedy took place 4 years ago. Let me tell you about it.
***
After the certain tragedy, everything started to get worse. Normally, people would just call me weirdo, emo, or freak. I never thought anything of it, mostly because it was true. I started to get beaten up. A year later, I thought that it couldn't get any worse so I came out as gay. Boy was I wrong. Teachers had started to hate me. Me of all people. I was an art kid who was great in classes and had a cute little brother who loved me and looked up to me.
You might be thinking, it couldn't get worse. It did. I started to... to... it's hard to write down. But this lead to me trying to kill myself. It didn't work. I ended up being sent to a hospital. They fixed me up and said they needed me to consider having therapy.
I said yes.
Which leads me here. Present day.
***
I was riding along with my little brother, Mikey, and Grandma Helena in her car. We are going to our new house in a town called Belleville. I don't think this is going to work but maybe I might make new friends.
Pfft who would make friends with a gay emo kid?
I pushed the dark thoughts to the back of my mind and continued to look at the industrial factories and houses zooming past the window. Mikey spoke up, "I've had a look at the town on my cellphone and it's pre-tty rough. Lots of violence, crime, but this is New Jersey so it's not that unusual,"
"Well this is coming from you. You're hard to trust with anything," I replied.
Mikey hits me on the arm and I laugh.
"Gerard, don't insult your brother. Mikey, don't hit him either," Grandma Helena said. We stay silent for several minutes until we pulled to a halt, "Boy's we're here!"We climbed out of the car. Mikey and I walked towards the house. It was a regular white house with porch and front lawn. Nothing special but it's home. Grandma Helena called me over, "Gerard dear! I need you and Mikey to take your boxes of things upstairs and choose your rooms. We don't have all day."
"OK. Mikey come on!"
I took my boxes of stuff and carried it upstairs. The first room I found was a medium sized bedroom with navy blue walls and wooden floor. "I call dips on this room," I yelled to Mikey.
"Hey! No fair; I haven't even looked properly!" He fake pouted.
I giggled and closed the bedroom door behind me. I always tried to look happy around Mikey even if he was only a year younger than me and more mature. I don't like worrying him. Upset Mikey is terrible.***
After a few hours everything was unpacked and we had settled in. We knew where everything was and, to be honest, it seemed as if fate was on our side. Not much happened the rest of the day. I ate dinner and watched some Sunday night television. Later on, me and Mikey went to bed but then it hit me.
Tomorrow is Monday meaning our first day at a new school. Luckily, Mikey's a smart ass and was moved up a grade.
Frank's POV (I don't hate anyone I mention in this story)
In my book, you need to be restrictive. In my book, you need to be invisible. In my book, you need rules.
My life consists of me getting up in the morning, feeling tired, dressing in all black, having breakfast, going to school, getting beaten up (called emo and fag), stuffed in lockers, found by someone, missing/failing lessons, going to lunch, hanging out with Ray and Bob, going to my last lesson, shredding on guitar, leaving school, being beaten up again by a different group of people, going home, lying to my Mom and Dad, going on the internet and going to bed. And that's it.
People would say that's a sad life but it isn't. My life is this way because I chose for it to be like this. I follow rules to set myself goals that I will be able to achieve. I need this in order to have order and that is that end of story. Just another tale for Frank Iero's rule book.
***
I woke up to a screeching alarm, telling me to get off of my fat ass and get ready. As usual, I got out of bed, showered, dressed, spent way too long on my hair, put my lip ring in, go downstairs, say hi to Mom before she head off to work, ate a bowl of cereal, grabbed my bag and other essential items (phone, wallet, earbuds and keys), and walked to school. I put my earbuds in, playing Killers by Iron Madien, and before I knew it, I was at the gates of Hell.
I walked through the halls trying to make it to English before I was stopped by a few people from different cliques. I was the only reason they communicated.
"Well well well," Andy Biersack said, with a smug grin. "If it isn't my favourite faggot."
"How many dicks did you suck this week Iero?" Rian Dawson asked, rhetorically, whilst poking me.
"Too many to count by the looks of it," Pete Wentz said, even though I think he's gay.
"Shut up both of you," Andy snapped. Andy was pretty much the king of the school. He does what he wants and doesn't get into trouble for it, he makes everyone do what he says without question and he has been described to me by some girls as "perfection". "Now where were we," he glared at me, "Oh yeah I was about to teach you your first lesson of the week." He punched me in the face which made me fall to the floor. He then grabbed me by the collar and forced me inside my own locker. The bell had went shortly after so I could start to call for someone, "Hello? Anyone? Locker 327 has exceeded it's weight limit." I could hear voices coming from down the hall. As they came closer I realized that it was two boys. I didn't recognize them and I pretty much knew everyone's first and last name and tone of voice. I decided to get their attention, "PST. PST. Hey you two." The two boys looked around. "Locker 327. The combination is 16 14 31." A dusty brown haired boy with glasses, blue tee and black skinnys unlocked it and opened it making me fall out of the locker. "Thanks."
"No problem," the boy with glasses said.
"I don't think I've seen you two around before. Are you new?"
"Oh. Allow me to introduce us. I'm Mikey Way and this is..." He looked down at the boy beside him. "My big brother, Gerard."
"Ha ha." Gerard answered sarcastically. He had black hair and wore a black hoodie and skinnys with converse shoes. He was kinda cute. Shut up Frank. He's probably straight and taken.
"I'm Frank. Frank Iero. Welcome to Belleville High School. I hope you enjoy it because me and my friends don't."
"Why not?" Mikey asked.
"It's full of arrogant dicks." I replied. I then realised that we were going to be late for class. "We're going to be late. What classes do you have?"
"We both have English with Mr Blakeley," Mikey said.
"So do I. We have an excuse for lateness. Come on." I said. They ran behind me and we were soon at Mr Blakeley's classroom. Time to face the wrath of the mega dick...An
So whaddya think? I'm unsure with the ending but I will fix it...in about five months time.
So we've got a bullied Frankie, a shy and insecure Gee and MikeyfuckingWay.You may get some Rikey in the next chapter...
