Kendall's POV:
As I was starting to pull out my suitcases, I couldn't stop practicing what I was going to tell McKenna. We have been friends since birth and I'm going to leave her now? I can't believe I have to do this.
****************** 2 Hours Later****************************************
As I walked into McKenna's room, I started feeling nervous. I have to tell my friend that I have to leave across the country. Never thought I would see this day....
"KENDALL!" McKenna screamed in my ear as she sneeked up on me.
Of course, I jumped about six feet in the air and screamed but I'm ok.......
"Oh my god!! You scared me." I said.
"Yeah..... I...... Saw." she said between laughs.
"So, I kind of need to tell you something..."
"What's up buttercup?" she responded.
"Ummmm.......I'mgoingtomoveinwithmyfatherwholivesacrossthecountryallthewayinhollywood" I said.
"Ken, I have no idea what you just said " she replied.
"I'm going to move in with my father who lives across the country, all the way in Hollywood." I finally told her.
McKennas POV:
"I'm going to move in with my father who lives across the country, all the way in Hollywood."
"WHAT? WHY? WHEN? YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE!!!!!!" I started freaking out. How could Kendall Just leave like that? There must be a reason.
"Wow, can you give me time to answer your questions?" Kendall said. "My mom said that I needed to go see my dad, since I haven't visited him in a really long time".
"So how long do I have to live with out my best friend?" I replied.
"One.. Maybe two years?" she said calmly.
"A WHOLE YEAR?!?!?!?!?!?" I screamed at her.
"Probably...."
"So, when are you leaving?" I replied
"Well.. Ummm.. You see......." She started to hesitate. Not a good sign..
"Just spit it out already." I said.
"Tomorrow". Her words hit me like a ton of bricks.
Kendalls POV:
"Tomorrow" I said hesitantly.
Her jaw dropped faster than ever. "Tomorrow? Please tell me this is some sort of sick joke." She said.
"I wish it was" I said showing her the plane tickets for LAX.
"You better Skype me every single day" Kenna said.
"Of course, but you HAVE to visit during the summer." I said.
"A summer in California? Hmmmm.. I have to think about that" She replied with a smirk.
"Shut up." I said rolling my eyes.
"So I should get back to packing" I told McKenna sadly.
"Need help?" She replied.
"Sure.. Lets go"
************************The Next Morning***********************************
Why do I have to board a plane at three o'clock in the morning? I really hate airplanes. Never liked them, never will. They're just so, dangerous... What if the plane crashed? They say it's more rare than winning the lottery, but I don't care. I know I might be a little over dramtic, but still. I hate these things.
McKenna and I were bawling at the airport. My mom wasn't there. Nothing unusual about that. It just kind of sucks that my own mom didn't say goodbye.
"Now ready for take off" The guy the guy on the intercom said, right as I was drifting off to sleep...
*********
I woke up right as we were landing. I hate leaving the plane too. The airport is too crowded and it smells horrible. And getting your luggage off that thing that spins around and around? That's a whole different story.
It took me only 20 minutes to find my luggage. That's a new record for me. As I was heading out, I saw my dad. Suddenly, I got nervous. What if he doesn't remember me? I haven't seen him since I was 9! That was seven whole years ago. Right when he looked at me, his eyes lit up and ran over to me.
"Kendall, I can't believe you're actually here." he said while hugging me.
"Me neither" I replied truthfully.
"You've grown up so much!" He said.
"Yeah.. I guess"
"So, are you ready to meet Avery?"
"Who's Avery?" I asked confused.
"She's your new step sister." He said with a big grin on his face.
"What? I have a step sister?"
"Yeah. You're going to lover her. She's about a year older and she's a really good surfer. Maybe you can go with her and her friends sometime." He started rambling on and on how amazing my step sister is.
"So.... Are you about ready to come see the house and the family?" He asked.
"I guess". I said. I had a feeling I didn't sound too excited. I guess it's going to be cool having a sister, but McKenna was practically my sister, and no one could ever replace her. I hope I get along with her.......
And with that, I hopped in the limo and was off to my dad's new family, and onto my new life.
A/N: So.... This is the second chapter. I hope you enjoy reading my book.. I realize it isn't that good of a book, but I'm working on it :P.. On the right is a picture of Kendall's dad (Alex Stevens) :) ------------------------>
