Kendall's POV:
As we were driving, I couldn't help but notice every single house we passed was huge! I was speechless. I grew up in the poor part of Boston, not the rich parts of Hollywood. And every person we passed were toned and looked like they came out of a magazine. How the world am I going to fit in here?
"We're home." Dad said as we pulled into a huge mansion.
"This is your HOUSE?" I asked my father.
"Of course it is... Why would you ask such a silly question?" He replied.
Probably because I didn't grow up in this lifestyle, but you wouldn't know that, because you were never there. I thought to myself.
As we walked out of the limo, a girl kind of around my age came running out of the house and gave me the biggest hug ever.
"I'm so happy to finally meet you!" She told me. "Dad has mentioned you so many times, I needed to meet you."
So this was Avery? A little too peppy for me, but I can live with it.
"Nice to meet you too". I said back.
"Come on, I have to show you around." Avery told me.
"Ok". I replied shyly. I just got here and she's acting like she already knows me? This is new to me..
"So, this is the kitchen......" she started.
I didn't even listen to her. This place was HUGE! I've never been to a place like this before."So, do you know how to surf?" she asked me while finishing up the tour of the mansion.
"Ummm.. Not really.. Out in Boston, you don't really get nice places to surf." I replied back.
"Oh my God!! I feel so bad! Now I have to teach you how to surf!"
"No, no, that's ok. I'm not really the sporty type of girl". I said.
"So then what kind of girl are you?"
"I'm the girl that.." I started trying to find the words.. "That is always silent, never really talks, and usually doesn't get the best attention from others."
"Well, if you have any problems at our school, just tell me. I'll handle it" Avery said.
"You would really do that for me?" I asked. She nodded. "How?"
"Well, being the popular girl that I am", she began, "I just have that power". She replied with attitude.
"So... What makes you so popular?" I asked.
"Student body president, Head of most committees, Head cheerleader, Captain of the volleyball team, and of course, dating our schools quarterback, and I throw boss parties when the parents are away.. That kind of makes me a little popular" She said.
"Holy shit." I replied.
"Yeah, yeah.. It's no big deal." She said.
"Yeah it is.. I've never really been friends with the anyone in the 'popular crowd'".
"Well.. I guess this is your year to change that around." She said with a smile.
"Yeah I guess so.."
"Anyways.. Your going to be bunking with me while you're here"
"Cool"
"I have a feeling your going to love it here"
"I really hope so."
"So... Do you have any close friends back home in Boston?" Avery asked.
"Yeah, I do... Her name is McKenna.. We grew up together.." I said handing her a picture of me and Kenna..
