Sleep

OH sleep what a beautiful thing
Thinking of the peace and everything it brings
Breathing gets shallower and slower
As eyes grow tired and seem so much heavier
The heart inside your chest
Is eventually laid to rest
Your mind revels in the intense depiction of events
No matter what it is your mind doesn't relent
I take an unsteady breath
And brace myself for my minds temporary death
My eyes snap shut and memories flood my mind
I never believed that it was possible for me to shine
Dream after dream not quite understanding why these events
When everything in my life is already intense
I wake with a start with sweat trickling down my brow
I panic but then suddenly drift off not even sure how
Wake after wake my tired eyes grow heavier
And my complexion worsens and becomes darker
I wear a smile as if it's a important material possession
I grab my charisma and glee and use it as if it's my only notion
Sleep the peaceful yet unruly abyss
Will it leave you breathless or in bliss
