Chapter 3

Riley POV

I got up with a slight head ache. I groaned remembering that I had fought with my parents, "Get ready for some drama Riley, today is going to be a long day" I told myself.

I got off my bed pushing away my quilt and walking towards my bathroom with my head still pounding. I always liked taking a hot shower which helped relaxing my body. Once I was done with washing my hair and getting dressed in orange shorts and a white tank top, I picked up my phone and decided to tell Emily the story of my life!

Emily picked up in the second ring. "Hey, missing me already!" Emily said enthusiastically "Yes my highness, already missing you and thought you being my best friend should know something really important.. Please don't freak out." I said picturing Emily's reaction in my mind.

"Okay. What is it then, wait, what!! Don't tell me you are pregnant! Oh Riley how did this happen?" she teased

"Ha ha very funny girl!" I said with my voice full of sarcasm

"Okay, okay then what is it?" she said worried

"I am getting married." Not saying anything more I waited for Emily to react.

"You're kidding me right? If you are then this is not a very nice joke" she said not believing what I said

"No Emily, I'm not. When I got back home yesterday my parents..." I said reciting the exciting time I spent with my parents yesterday with the pleasant talk we all shared.

"Oh my god Riley, so you're telling me that you are going to London in almost less than two days to stay with you're so called future husband to check him out. Gosh! Riley you are sure in a big mess. But you're not if your fiancé is hot! Hey that rhymed" she said

This girl so knows how to lighten up the mood..

"Hope he is! So, how was your first day in New York?" I said trying to change the topic from my boring life to my best friend's life which was pretty exciting.

"Oh girl you can't believe this place is so much better than California!" Emily exclaimed

Yes, me and Emily were born and brought up in California. Well I'm still living here, probably in London next month.

"I'm sure, New York is one happening place." I said

"It is! Ok I've got to go, miss you loads Riley." She said ending the call

Aaron POV

"Hello Mr. Houten, my name is Aaron Cooper and I am 25 years old." I said my voice full of confidence to the person interviewing me

"Aaron, well there is not much to ask you about yourself. But I would surely want to ask, why would you choose to deal with our company?" Mr. Houten asked.

"Well, looks like you don't want to deal with England's No.1 Company." I said

"No Mr. Cooper we would never lose a chance to deal with you I was just a bit curious. I'm sorry to waste your time and it would be a pleasure working with you." He said bringing his hand forward to seal the deal

Getting companies to deal with 'The Coopers' was always very easy. I was getting late for some presentations and left from there as soon as I was done.

After a few presentations I decide it was time to go home for dinner.

"Mom I'm back home!" I said as I got home

"Oh Aaron you're home just in time for dinner. How did your work go?" she asked taking my office bag and handing it over to our maid

"As always I cracked the deal and had some presentations which went pretty well too. Got a meeting fixed in Chicago for day after tomorrow. That's how my day went." I said already thinking of the agenda in Chicago.

"No Aaron you can't go to Chicago. Didn't I tell you that Riley is coming to be with us that day." She said with a slight frown

"Riley? Who is that?" it took me a minute to recollect who is she and when I did I said "Oh right! My fiancé!"

"Aaron, Riley is a lovely girl, and she is very pretty! I'm sure you will love her." She said trying to reassure me

"Ok mom I will fix the meeting for another day, now come on let's eat, I'm very hungry!" I told her as I walked in the dining room
