Chapter 30: Birthday and Train Ride

The Manor was very quiet. I could tell that we were in the living room. "Draco? Alice? What are you two doing here?" I heard Narcissa ask us. "There was an attack at our campsite. Father told me to make sure that I took Alice home to safety," Draco explained to her.

"Are you two alright?" she asked us. "Yes we are," Draco answered for me. I gave her a nod. "Go to your room and sleep. I'll see you two in the morning," she told us. Draco lead me away from the living room to his room.

Once in his room, he removed his coat from my shoulders. "You can go to bed first. I need to change," he told me. I walked up to his bed and went under the covers. Soon, Draco got under the covers and pulled me close to him.

We drifted off to sleep.

News came out the next day that death eaters were at the campsite that night. Draco explained to me about death eaters. There was a specific mark to tell if a witch or wizard was a death eater. Draco described the mark to me. I didn't like death eaters after knowing about it.

August 24.....

I woke up from someone touching my cheek. "Draco?" I called out to him sleepily. "Happy birthday, love," he said to me. He really knew how to make me smile. He gave me a sweet kiss on the lips but, I pushed him away.

"Draco. I have morning breath. At least wait until I got washed up first," I said to him. I heard him chuckle. "Alright. I'll wait right here," he said to me. I pushed the covers away and made my way to the bathroom.

After washing up and getting dressed, I walked out of the bathroom. The room was a bit too quiet. "Draco?" I called out. {He said that he was going to wait here.} Next thing I knew, I felt arms around my waist. I jumped a bit but, I knew that it was him.

"Don't scare me like that," I said to him. I heard him chuckle. "Sorry," he said to me. He took my hand and we made our way to the dining room for breakfast. Narcissa gave me a hug and a present to open. She got me a new outfit to wear especially on my first day.

Lucius wasn't at the manor because he had to work. He did leave me a present. I opened it to feel that it was a new history book. Draco and I ate our breakfast together. Breakfast was sweet with pancakes and fruit salad.

After eating, we took a walk in the garden for some exercise. Draco held my hand. "I have a present for you," he said to me. I turned my head towards him. "You didn't have to get me anything. I didn't get you anything for your birthday," I said to him.

I felt him stop walking and he had me face him. "You were my birthday present. My present for you is very important to me," he said to me. I gave him a nod. He let go of my hand. I stood very still. Next thing I knew, I felt something around my neck.

I touched the pendant. "I thought I get you a new one since Pansy broke the one I gave you for Christmas," he said to me. "Thank you," I said to him. I felt him lift my head up with his fingers. I could feel his breath in front of me.

"I love you," he said to me. I gave him a smile. "I love you too," I said to him. We gave each other a passionate kiss. I felt my ring heating a bit. We broke apart. "Is something going on with my ring?" I asked him.

"It's glowing. My ring is glowing too. This happens when we feel the love for each other," he explained to me. I gave him a nod. I felt him give me a kiss on the cheek. "Let's go inside before my mother thinks we are doing something inappropriate," he whispered to me.

I playfully slapped him on the chest. "You are really perverted you know that," I said to him. I heard him laugh and he took my hand. We made our way inside the manor. It was the best birthday ever.

September 1st.....

It was time for us to go to Hogwarts. I was really nervous to be going back to he school where I got expelled. I was a bit happy that I may meet Harry and the others. I had missed them so much. I forgot to write to them that I was okay.

We were at King's Cross Station. Narcissa and Lucius was there to see us off. Narcissa gave me a hug. "Take good care of yourself," she said to me. "I will," I said to her. "You take good care of her Draco. I don't want to be hearing from her about you doing something wrong," she said to me.

"I will mother," I heard him say. I didn't hear anything from Lucius. Draco took my hand and led me to the train. He guided me inside the train to the Slytherin compartments. I could hear the Slytherins in the compartments.

Soon, I heard a door open and Draco led me inside. "Oh Malfoy. Alice. You're here," I heard Nott said to us. "Hello Nott," I heard Draco say to him. "Hi," I said. Draco had me sit down next to him. It had been a long time since I rode the train.

I heard the horn of the train and felt the train move under my touch.

"How have you guys been?" he asked us. "Just fine. I'm glad that Alice is able to go to Hogwarts this year," Draco explained to him. "What classes is she taking?" Nott asked him. "She taking a few classes that doesn't require much vision. She is going to take potion but, she needs someone to look over her," Draco explained.

"Oh," I heard Nott say. After a while, I heard the door open. "Anything from the trolley dear?" I heard the trolley lady ask. "Do you want anything?" Draco asked me. "Water please," I said to him. I felt him get up from his seat.

After a while, Draco came back. He placed a water bottle and something else in my hands. "I got you a pumpkin pasty. I want you to eat something," he said to me. I gave him a nod. I took my time eating and drinking.

After eating and drinking, I my hand felt a bit sticky from the pasty. "Can I go to the restroom? My hands feels sticky," I asked them. "Sure. I'll walk you," Draco said to me. He helped me up from my seat.

We made our way to the restroom. "The girl's restroom is right ahead. I'll stay here," he said to me. I gave him a nod. I pushed the door and used the restroom. I was washing my hands when I heard the door open.

"You were with Malfoy at the game right?" I heard a girl ask me. The voice sounded familiar. "Yes." "Are you going to Hogwarts?" I heard her ask me. Her voice made me think of Hermione. "Yes. Are you Hermione Granger by any chance?" I asked her.

"Yes. Who are you?" she asked me. I turned my body towards the voice. "It's me Alice," I said to her. "Alice? Is it really you?" she said to me. I gave her a nod. I felt her give me a tight hug. "I'm so happy to see you. We missed you so much," she said to me.

"I know. Me too. I'm sorry for not sending you letters. I was going through a lot," I said to her. "I understand. Are you alright? Why haven't you look at me?" she asked me. {Might as well tell her the truth.}

"Remember the potion incident from our first year?" "Yes," she said. "I'm blind. The potion incident made me lose my eyesight," I said to her. "Oh. I'm so sorry," she said to me. I could tell that she was really sorry. "It's okay."

"Alice? Are you alright in there?" I heard Draco calling out to me. "I have to go. I'll explain everything later," I said to her. "Okay," she said. I made my way out of the restroom to rest in Draco's arms. I heard him chuckle a bit.

"What took you long?" I heard him ask me. "I bumped into Hermione," I said to him. "I did see Granger. She glared at me a bit," he said. "She is one of my friend you know." "I know. Let's go back. Nott must be waiting," he suggested to me. I gave him a nod.

Once in the compartment, I fell asleep next to Draco.
