"Why?" I asked her.

"I would love for you to take our family name to not only to continue our line, but continue our families ancient magic and gift. Truly, I want you to continue our family's legacy," she told me. I was even more surprised. It sounded like a big honor.

"It really sounds like a big honor. I understand," I said to her. She had a big smile on her face. "I saw in my vision that you will be like me. You will surpass our ancestors' greatness in magic. For that, I am proud of you. You have great potential in the future. I could see many great things coming towards you," she said to me. I could feel a smile forming on my face.

"Through my wand, I saw that your love cycle will be similar to mine. I saw that you will cross paths with a Malfoy. You will both love each other despite your opposite beliefs and will go through obstacles together. The only question is will you both break apart like us or stay together and break the cycle of tragedy. It's your choice," she told me. I gave her a nod.

{In love with Malfoy....no way.}

"I promise to make you proud. Thank you for telling me everything. You might have changed my life," I told her. I saw her wave her hand over my necklace. I looked at my necklace to see the gem glowing. {What's going on!}

I saw the silver around the gem break into different pieces. The pieces of silver molded together to shape into a ring. I saw the amethyst gem split into two and set themselves on the ring. The diamonds shined and set themselves on the ring. The ring floated and slid onto my finger.

I looked up at her. "It's my birthday present to you," she told me. "Thank you," I said to her. "Also, I know that you are losing your vision. I have two house elves here who have been serving the family for generations. They know how to read. They will take care of you," she told me.

I looked over at the doorway to see two house elves. "Your wish is our command," they told me. I gave them a nod. {So I'm staying here I guess.} I turned my head back to Moriah. "Take good care of yourself Alice. Don't think anything less of yourself," she said to me.

"I'll try," I said to her. She gave me a smile. "I'll be watching over you," she told me. I watched her fade away into nothing.

I knew my life would never be the same.

August.....age 12........

Things had changed in the past year. I was now completely blind. I couldn't see a thing anymore. I only saw blackness. I remembered when I noticed that my vision was gone. I had woken up to see blackness.

I had thought that it was nighttime but, I saw that I couldn't see anything. I had cried so much that day. One of the house elves, Pip, assisted me since then. She would help me walk from room to room throughout the house so that I could memorize the way.

She would read me books in the house since I couldn't read. Sometimes, I felt bad for her for helping me too much but, she told me that she didn't mind at all.

For the past year, I relied on my other senses. I was able to tell who was around me through footsteps.

I knew soon, I would be turning thirteen soon. I would be known by a different name.

August 24......

Malfoy Manor.......

It was the morning and the Malfoy family was in the dining room having their breakfast. Narcissi and Malfoy was focused on their meal. Lucius was looking through the Daily Prophet to see something very interesting.

"So there is a Hyland who is alive today," Lucius said out loud. Narcissa stopped sipping her tea and looked at her husband. "How is that possible?" she asked her husband. "I do not know. This is a shock to the wizard world. I will look into it," he said to her.

The family were well aware of their family connection to the Hyland family. They had given something to their son on his thirteenth birthday. It was a ring that the family had treasured for a couple of centuries.

Narcissa knew that her son will be involved. She had something in mind.
