We stopped at a distance from the CDC building. We walked to the front doors. Rick knocked at the door. He began pounding at the door.

"Rick, there's nobody here!" Lori yelled.

"There's nobody here!" Carol joined.

"Help! Help! We need food! We need water! Help!" Rick pleaded.

"Rick, listen: there's nobody here. Let's go!" Lori said.

I heard a strange "bst" sound. I looked up and saw a video camera moving; observing us. It continued to move. There must be someone inside.

"Rick!" I yell, pointing to the camera.

"It's motion censored! Let's go!" Shane shouted.

"Please! We know your there! Please let us in! Were hungry. And-" Rick said pounding on the door.

His knocking cut off his talking. People pulled on Rick but he didn't budge. Rick finally began to give up. Night was falling quickly and walkers emerged from the area towards us. They finally pulled him from the door. We all took two steps and we were blinded by a powerful flash of light. The doors to the CDC opened.

"Everybody get inside!" Rick ordered.

Everybody ran inside. Andrea closed the door behind her. The place was fancy and clean; that was rare nowadays. Every house was raided and trashed.

"Check for walkers," Jacqui said. Jacqui was T-Dogs wife.

Everybody had weapons out. Looking around. I stuck by Katlynn's side. We saw something creep from a shadow; a man.

"Is anyone bit?" He asked.

"One of our group was but we..." Rick stopped himself.

"I understand. What do you want?" He said.

"A chance." Rick replied.

"That's asking an awful lot these days. If you need anything else bring it now, once those doors are closed they cannot be opened." He stated.

"We have everything." Rick said.

The man closed the doors. We followed him into an elevator and went down. It was a while til we reached the bottom. They said things but I was not listening. We followed him into the lab.

"Doc?" Shane asked.

"Genner. I'm doctor Edwin Genner." He replied.

"Where is everybody? All the other doctors?" Shane asked.

"Once the plague began to spread a lot bolted and left to be with their family. Some, as you could say, opted out." Genner stated.

"Suicide," Andrea muttered.

"The admission is a blood sample." Genner changed the subject.

"We can do that." Rick said.

Genner took samples of blood from each of us. He finished with Andrea. Once she stood she shook and stumbled. I picked her off the ground.

"She hasn't eaten in days. None of us have," Jacqui explained to Genner.

Genner nodded and we followed him again but into a kitchen. The table already had stacks of food. I saw Katlynn's eyes light up once she saw bacon. I giggled to myself and we all began eating; stuffing our faces with all the food we could eat. Once we were done, Genner shown us our rooms. Me and Andrea roomed together. Katlynn and Daryl roomed together. The rest of the families roomed with each other.

"Take it easy on the hot water." Genner told.

"Hot water?" Glenn said as everybody smiled.

I set mine and Andrea's things on the bed as she took a shower. I looked in the drawers and took the clean clothes and stored my dirty ones in there. I had the feeling that we won't be here long. But Genner said that the doors won't open again. I heard a thump and a cry.
