~ Karaoke Session~
Harry and I had finished telling the rest of the gang about my painful past.
They all had the same reaction, gasps.
Louis was the only one who actually wanted to touch my wounds.
I let him.
I’ve never felt so welcome and warm and happy.
They didn’t treat me like a freak or like I didn’t belong. They made me feel the exact opposite of those.
I felt loved.
“So……… on that sad note, I vote karaoke!!” Louis exclaimed.
Everyone else agreed except me. I objected straight away. I haven’t sung since mother. I used to sing with her every morning to the morning jam radio station. Her voice was always filled with light and gratitude.
Niall led me to the couch.
I sat and watched awkwardly as Liam went up and connected the karaoke machine to the television set.
“So, who would like to go first?” Liam called out.
Niall rapidly raised his hand and jumped out of his seat.
“I do. I do. I do!!” He shouted excitedly.
“Alright, Niall you can go first... Again.” Liam granted him permission.
He jumped with joy and sang “whipee!”
He took the microphone from Liam and chose a song from the selection on the key pad.
The music blurted through all the speakers in the room.
I laughed so hard.
Niall stood there in front of everybody and started belting out Lady Marmalade.
“Sing along if you know the words cuz’ I don’t!” He sang.
I giggled.
The words appeared on the screen and at first I just watched him stumble over the words and rhythm.
I started humming along with him.
He was funny! He tried to dance to the music and failed miserably.
It was a good laugh though.
Once he had finished, Zayn stepped up to the plate.
He picked a song that showed off his true range.
All I can say is... Damn.
A while went by and apparently I was the only one who hadn’t gone yet.
“Alright Phoebe! Get your young prego arse up here and sing your heart out youre the last one left.” Louis yelled.
I drew a quick breath in and stepped off of the couch.
I walked slowly up the carpet and accepted the microphone from Louis.
“Good luck, bebz.” Louis said before he sat back on the couch without me.
I stood there awkwardly and started to search for a song to sing.
I finally picked one to settle on and the music started sooner than expected.
“Here we go” I thought to myself.
I began to sing the words to I’m Okay by Christina Aguilera.
“Once upon a time, there was a girl
