~ The Unexpected Explanation~
“No, you do.” I glared at him.
The serious look on his face faded into sorrowful.
“Phoebe, I can explain-“ He began but I turned around so he couldn’t see my face, nor the front of my body for that matter.
“Don’t bother.” I said and started walking back to Ryan’s place.
“At least tell me where you’re going please? Let me know you’re safe.” He begged.
I sighed.
“I’m going to a guy called Ryan’s house and I’ll be fine. Leave me now please?” I said.
You have no idea how much I wanted to give into myself and hug him so tight neither of us would be able to breathe.
But I knew I just couldn’t let him off that easy. I had to say no to him. I just had to...
“Who’s Ryan?” He asked, not hiding the anger in his voice.
“A guy. It doesn’t matter just leave me alone please.” I said.
I felt extremely bad for the situation we were in.
I wasn’t going to let him get what he wanted that easy, he was going to have to work.
He looked very hurt by my answer.
“A guy? What kind of guy? A guy you have a little thing for or a guy trapped inside the friend-zone?” He asked, begging for me to say I didn’t like Ryan any more than a helpful friend.
I rolled my eyes and took a step toward Harry, “Haz, he’s twice my age.” I giggled slightly.
He frowned, “That never stopped me.”
“Harry, just go. Just leave me alone. I know all about that interview you boys participated in. I’m just a crazed fan who lied to you about so many things unimaginable and I stalk people. Leave.” I scowled.
He shook his head.
“That’s not what you think. Management told us we had to say those things in order for your image to get out of the way and not ruin our career.” He explained.
I stopped in my tracks.
“Wait, so this whole entire time I was the one destroying your life? I was destroying everything? I destroyed your lives?”
He kept shaking his head and trying to shush me.
“No no no no no no no no no no... That came out wrong. That’s not what I meant at all. I’m sorry.” He kept going on and on about how I misheard what he was trying to say.
Eventually I was just plain fed up with all the drama and I shook my head which caused him to shut up.
“Goodbye Harry.” I said quietly and began to walk off only his hand landed on my shoulder and yanked me back in front of him.
He kissed me and I was way too confused to pull away.
I didn’t know I was kissing back until I felt him smile against my lips.
He backed out for breath.
“Look, Phoebe I’m sorry.” He began again.
“I’m begging you! Please? Just come back? I’ll do anything! We all miss you! Please please please please please-“
I placed my finger over his mouth.
“Just shut the hell up.” Was all I said before I kissed him another time.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you thank you thank you.” He kept saying in between breaks in our long snog.
I gave in.
I then realized I couldn’t go back with Harry and the band.
I remembered Ryan and his friend with the record deal. How could I pass a chance like that up?
I ended the kiss suddenly.
“I cant go back with you, Harry.” I said quickly whilst he started kissing my neck.
“Yes, you can.” He whispered into another kiss on the nape of my neck.
“No, no really Harry, I can’t.” I sighed as I pushed him off of me.
He gave me a confused expression.
“I just can’t, Haz.” I sighed.
“Do you like somebody else?” He wondered.
I shook my head.
“Then what is it, Phoebe? I’m in front of you spilling my heart out and you won’t explain a tiny little detail that’s separating us?” He scoffed.
“Harry, I’ve told you my entire life stories. I think I’m going to keep this small detail to myself thank you.” I said, turning on my heel the opposite direction from Harry and hit the trail back to Ryan’s cottage.
You’ll never know how desperately I wanted Harry to sprint after me and hug me. He stood there in his place until I was out of sight.
I couldn’t look at him.
I kept my eyes on the trail to Ryan’s.
