Ryan's p.o.v. -
I heard my fiancé on the phone and saw the shock on her face. I asked "What is it?"

I knew she was hearing bad news when she said "Oh my god! No!"

The caller said "The good thing is it was caught early. You can have a healthy delivery and battle this."

She dropped her phone and burst into tears. It was happening. Nikki had cancer.

My first instinct was to throw my arms around her as tight as I possibly could.  My second was to kiss away her tears that she felt would never stop falling.

She had heard from her mystery caller again, she was pregnant, she had cancer.  She had a lot to deal with, but I wasn't letting her go.  I would never let her go through any of this on her own.  That just wasn't me.  If a person I loved was in trouble I would do every damn thing I could to help them through it or out of it.  As long as it wasn't legal trouble.  If they got into legal trouble they would have to figure that out themselves.  This was health related and I texted Mike to tell him everything.

Mikes first instinct was to get his ass to my house and talk to us.

He walked in the door and saw me holding Nikki as she cried heavily.  Mike had to help but he wasn't sure how much he could do on his own without calling in other specialists.

I said "They said she can be seeking help for both the pregnancy and the cancer, but I don't understand that.  I'm unclear what treatments can be done while pregnant."

Mike said "Well, she can change her diet to reflect the pregnancy nutrition which may help decrease the white blood cell count and normalize her levels.  They may also include certain foods for cancer treatment and make sure it is safe for the baby.  You really need to see an osteopath or something."

Nikki said "I knew a girl who has a brain tumor that decreased exponentially after seeing one."

Mike said "Then you already know they can help you more than I can.  I can give some tips but not as much as a doctor or an osteopath."

I loved this woman more than anyone or anything but knew she couldn't call a specialist until the following day.  We would have to sleep on the news for a night and wait to discuss this.

After a long drawn out plan with Mike, he left and I crawled into bed with my beautiful amazing pregnant fiancée.  Her eyes red after crying for hours just so dry.  I held her body as close as I could to mine as she attempted to sleep.

I don't know if she actually got any that night because when I woke up at 6:30 am her eyes were wide open.  I asked "Baby?  Did you get any sleep?"

"Only a few minutes here and there" said Nikki starting to break drown again.

I looked up various doctors in the area and found on rated well on a critic site.  He was listed as being able to have great results with patients who went to his clinic for vitamins and supplements as well as nutritional changes.

I called to make an appointment for Nikki and he said "We have an opening tomorrow at 2:15."

I said "She'll take it."

Nikki's p.o.v. -
The following day I got ready to visit this osteopath and hope he could make me have a healthy pregnancy while battling my cancer.

Dr Suresh told me "I can help you with that.  First of all we need to take a look at your results from your recent tests."

I handed him my papers and we discussed everything.

I would spend the next three weeks visiting Dr Suresh and having a test from my regular dr as well.  I was getting closer to my wedding day which by the way Ryan was also becoming a lot closer to not needing crutches at all.

I was so relieved that one of us was becoming healthy and back to normal.  (For the most part)

At the end of the third week I got news.  I had already made my levels in my kidneys get back to a much more normal number.  I still had cancer but I was doing great.  I felt relieved that my wedding day would go off without a hitch.  Unless you count that pesky mystery caller claiming he knew my secret.
