Part 17

Nikki's p.o.v. -
I just heard a voice tell me there was proof that this girl speaking to me was mine. I was so scared to learn the truth. I was supposed to be married by now and Ryan's first instinct was to wrap his arms around me whispering "I love you! We will get through this. Whatever his proof is. I will be your husband."

This made me breathe a sigh of relief knowing that this mystery man, whether he was playing a cruel joke on me or telling the truth; that Ryan would stay with me through absolutely anything.

The man spoke "Here! Look at this" handing me a piece of paper.

It had a DNA test from that missing year. He had held onto an item from an encounter to have tested. It read 99.9% match. I was her mother. I told the officiant "Please finish and I can deal with this. I want to be Ryan's wife."

He spoke "By the power vested in me by the state of California and God I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride."

Ryan moved closer pulling me into his strong arms pressing his lips against mine. His left hand behind my head holding me close, his right holding my neck gently.

The mystery man made us stop kissing so he could discuss things. He spoke "More about that year... You weren't really a virgin when you slept with Ryan this year. You just didn't know it."

Ryan had a feeling of where he was going with this and his next instinct was to have me and the girl move so he could "talk" to the guy.

I took her hand and we moved away so we could talk and that Ryan could "Talk" to the mystery man.

Ryan said "Look, I don't know who you are or think you are, but you were in prison so you must be an asshole. If she wasn't a virgin when she met me it has to be because of something you did."

The man said "All I did was enjoy her sexy body."

Ryan's face grew red with anger and was about to punch him in the face "I bet she had no clue you were doing it either" and before he could stop the guy was on the ground.

I looked over and saw him on the ground "What happened?"

Ryan said "He was taunting me. I didn't even have a chance to stop myself. It just happened."

The man shook it off, stood up and said "It's been more than ten years and I wasn't in prison for anything having to do with your wife."

I asked "Are you admitting you raped me?"

The man said "Now why would I admit to that?"

Ryan said "The only way you'd have gotten her pregnant years ago would have been against her will. In which case you are one of those world class d-bags! There's nothing I hate more than a guy who takes advantage of a woman who can't say 'No' it's despicable."

I said "If I don't remember that year it had to have been rape" smacking my fists against the mans chest in anger "I hate you! I don't blame the little girl at all, but I sure blame you. Don't ever talk to me, come near me, call me, text me, or my daughter."

He said "She's my daughter too."

The ten year old girl spoke "If you hurt my mom I don't want to ever talk to you again. Stay out of my life. Forever. I want him as my dad. Not you!"

Ryan smiled a tiny bit and thought of having a young girl living in the house.

After forcing the man to leave Ryan asked for the girls name.

She said "Koryn Leah Anne."

I quietly told my husband "Wow.  I wanted to use that name for one of my children.  Now I have one."

Ryan said "Now that he's gone, I have my surprise.  I guess we should include Koryn though."

I said "Yes!  We should.  I'm glad she likes you.  Actually saying she wants you to be her dad.  She doesn't know you.  You have serious child and animal magnetism."

He didn't know I had a surprise in the car. 

We walked towards the vehicle and he noticed a partially covered item in the back seat (with the windows open) and dug in to grab it.

He uncovered the item to see a crate carrying something.  He opened it to find a cute puppy that had a bandaged leg. 

I said "I found her on the road.  She was at the animal hospital being fixed up while I waited to see if anyone was missing her.  It had been three weeks.  She's my gift to you."

Ryan smiled "I'd call that a rescue.  Taking an injured puppy from the road.  I did say I wanted a rescue."

We pulled close again for a sweet kiss and then he led me to the surprise he had waiting for me.

Everyone else was already waiting, but Koryn Ryan and I were on our way. 

Once the car stopped, he parked and opened the door for me and Koryn to let us out.  He took my hand on his right and her hand on the left walking towards my surprise. 

He told me to cover my eyes as he led us over. 

I heard voices say "Open your eyes."

I uncovered my sparkling blue eyes trying not to cry as it looked so beautiful.  I couldn't speak.  I wrapped my arms around my husbands neck smiling. 

Ryan said "It's ours!"
