Derek chuckled as Penelope set up her computer. "Let's see if he listened to anything I told him about her." He knew Aaron could be a little hardheaded at times but from what they heard he was doing just fine.

"You've been talking to Derek about me." Ava chuckled, she knew he had something to do with her getting tricked into the date. She wasn't complaining.

Derek smiled at Spencer and then Jack. "Yeah, I think we have enough for everyone." He took Spencer's hand leading him to the kitchen followed closely by Jack. He set out the things they'd need to prepare the night's meal.

Penelope turned up her computer so they would be able to hear. "Derek where'd you find this girl anyway?"

"She's a friend from my early days in training. She's a good girl. Just like Hotch she needs someone to show her that all guys aren't complete dicks." Derek called from the kitchen.

Ava smiled as they pulled up to the restaurant. "This is supposed to be a good place. French food has always been my favorite." She said taking his hand as he helped her out of the car.

Once they were seated and looking over the menu. "So, Aaron. Tell me something, what's it like being a big bad BAU profiler?"

"And then she opens that mouth of hers." Derek shook his head. "Well, hope Hotch likes his women a little sassy cause she's got a whole lot of that."

Spencer smiled softly hearing all that was around him, "Hotch needs a fiery woman, with our job and all that we deal with means that he needs someone to handle the good and the bad." He felt Jack hold his hand as they walked to the kitchen.

Hearing the boy huff, he raised his eyebrow, "You alright Jack?" The boy looked up and took his hand again. "There was a chair and a pair of shoes that I didn't want you to trip over so I moved them." Spencer blushed and smiled softly, "Thank you very much Jack that is very kind." Jack guided him into the kitchen, "Can I help with dinner Derek?"

Aaron laughed and smiled, "Yes I did talk to Derek, I am very new to this dating thing." He ordered a bottle of wine and looked back at the menu. "I haven't really dated since Hailey was murdered. I have been focusing on my work and Jack."

Putting his menu down, "It is interesting, makes life worth it just taking out a bit of evil in the world." He shrugged his shoulders and smiled at her. "My son knows I catch the bad guys so it makes all of it amazing." He raised his eyebrow and leaned his chin on his hand. "So tell me, what is it like to be an undercover agent? You seem like you are more than able to handle yourself."

Derek smiled handing him a baking sheet and the bag of nuggets. "Yeah, can you lay out the nuggets?" He shook his head at the speaker. "It's all business with that girl." He chuckled while fixing some oil in a pot to fry up the French fries.

"That sound enchanting." Ava smiled brightly. "Traveling all the time, and the things you've seen. That's gotta be hard you ya." She'd seen some messed up things in her unit but she was sure he had seen so much worse. "I'm actually getting out of undercover. I'm getting too old to run around with teenagers pretending to be tougher than what they are. They're gonna have me training the new ones. Setting up scenarios and running them through them." She shrugged her small shoulders. Ava smiled a little hearing him talk about Jack. "He's a great kid. He told me bout your wife. I'm sorry the two of ya had to go through that. I lost my mom when I was seven. Heart defect, I didn't even know she had it till I I found her and I over heard the doctors talking with my dad." Her smile dropped a little. "I told him what she used to tell me. She'd say life has a funny way of giving ya what you need. Apparently I didn't need my mom." She chuckled sadly. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I Said that."
