The captor sat in the room where he held Reid, looking at his watch he was counting down to the last second until he got what he needed for his next clue. The good doctor was sleeping but he seemed to realize someone else was in the room because he slowly opened his eyes.
"He still can not see what's in front of him so I am going to help him. Brace yourself." That was all the warning Reid received, the captor slowly walked to him and took a sharp scalpel and slammed it into his right eye.
Screaming in pain, Reid didn't realize that there was a camera recording all of this happening. Once the captors was sure he has done enough damage, he bandaged the man up and turned back to the camera with his bloody gloves and scalpel showing.
"One sight lost, do you understand yet? This is not the only time his sight has caused him pain. In three hours, the doctor will have to read in Braille." Turning off the camera, he left Reid where he was and slowly walked out of the room and to his own.
Changing out of his bloody gloves, he uploaded the video but instead of sending it to Penelope Garcia, he sent it to Agent Derek Morgan's computer. It was timed to play right when he clicked on it and heard Reid screaming.
Morgan was sitting at his desk slowly trying to put the pieces together. Hearing his computer beep he looked at it hesitantly clicking on the video. Reid's screams echoed through the room. Morgan tried to get up and away only managing to fall over his chair, tears stinging at his eyes. "No, no, no no no." The usually composed man whimpered. Why did it have to be Reid? Why his pretty boy?
"He's escalating. We now have three hours to find him." Hotch said helping Morgan off the floor.
"Guy, I got something." Garcia's voice sounded from a computer. "I was able isolate some the background noise on the video and I've got a couple of possible locations.... What's going on you don't look so happy?"
"Trust me, you don't wanna see it." Morgan hung on to a chair.
"Oh, ok. I've sent the coordinates to your tablets. Bring our sweet baby Reid home guys."
"You got it baby girl." Morgan was followed out by everyone else. They split into two teams. Morgan and Hotch going to one location and Greenly and Gideon going to the other. All of them hoping they weren't too late.
Walking back into the room, the captor walked to Reid and tilted his head up. "Your wound should heal with a bit of help from a doctor. The agents are trying to find us, I know the one that holds your heart is feeling his shatter."
"Why are you doing this?" Reid's voice was sad and lost, he was in pain and he was starting to feel his memories slowly start to fade with the effects of the drugs and anthrax. He wasn't sure why the unsub seemed to hurt him and take pity on him.
"I once loved as you but had my lost my love. She was killed in a hostage situation that your love was supposed to take care of. He watched my love get shot in the back of her head while the person ran." He shrugged and looked into Reid's good eye. "And since I can never see my love again, you won't have that luxury either."
Seeing metal shine for a brief moment, the man slammed the scalpel in his other eye. Tensing at the pain, Reid screamed loudly and clutched the chair. Once the damage was done, he bandaged the other eye and left the room.
Sending a text to Derek's phone, the unsub was starting to lose his patience. He wanted the agent to find the genius doctor before time ran out.
I sped up my time to take away yours. You took someone precious to me, so since I can no longer see my heart, neither can he.
Derek felt his phone Buzz, pulling it out quickly he had a message. He read it out loud to Hotch. "I took someone from him?" He looked around. "He's talking about a victim or hostage I didn't save."
He called Garcia. "Hey, I need you to look up all the hostage situations and victims were I was the lead. Specifically the ones that didn't make it."
