Spencer was rather amused about the bet and the stipulations to it. He knew many thought he was just an awkward nerd that focused more on knowledge than defending himself would work in his favor. He had learned a while ago how to fight off bullies and he had trained with Derek some before his eyesight was taken.
He took off his thin jacket and handed it and his walking stick to his boyfriend. "I do hope that Hotch knows where to go for a date because I have this." He smiled brightly and began stretching out his muscles slowly.
"Alright Ava, blindfold on and everyone in the room please be quiet. We do want this to be fair." He confidently walked into the middle of the room and waited for his opponent to join him.
Once the blindfold was on the woman, Reid stayed perfectly still and listened. His other senses were heightened since his eyesight was gone. He heard a slight movement to his left and he successfully blocked a punch to his side and kicked her away.
Before Ava went back in position, Reid kicked her feet out from under her. He stood back up and listened for her to move again. "Still think you can beat me?" He sounded proud of himself. He mainly went on the defense, landing hits when he knew he had her.
Derek smirked taking Spencer's things and went over to where the others were standing. "Your going down little girl." He taunted Ava knowing she'd have something to say about it.
"Hope you boys have your wallets it's gonna be a late night. You're going down pretty boy." She slipped the blindfold over her eyes I once she was in front of Spencer.
"May the best Man win." Derek called from his spot.
Ava quickly flipped him off before taking a shot at Spencer's left side. Being blocked and kicked away she scrambled to her feet only to be knocked down again. She grunted hitting the mat. "Don't you worry, I'm just buying my time." She was cocky for not having landed a hit. Not that she wasn't trying her pride wouldn't allow her to throw a fight even if she wanted to. And oh yeah, she wanted to.
"Anytime you wanna stop, just say the word Monroe."
"Never give up." Was all she said as Spencer landed another hit.
Once he had her on the ground pinned Ava chuckled. "Very good young padawan. Now get off me."
Spencer chuckled at her tone and moved off of her. He walked to Derek and beamed proudly at him, "I believe that I should be alright in the field, at least if I have someone watching my back like you."
He trailed his fingers up to his boyfriend's jaw and cheek bones, leaning in he slowly captured his lips in a sweet kiss before he felt a strong arm around his waist.
Smiling, he turned away from him and heard the others talking around him. "So Hotch, I will be more than happy to babysit Jack with Derek while you go on this much needed date." He heard Derek chuckling next to him.
Jack jumped up and down at the idea, "Yeah daddy! You go out and I can spend the night with Spencer and Derek." He turned and looked up at his dad. "I promise to be good... Please."
Ava got to her feet mentally kicking herself. "You'll do just fine." He accent came out a bit more as she spoke. She waved to everyone that had showed up to watch.
Derek chucked pulling Spencer closer to him as they kissed.
"Hotch going on a date. That sounds like an interesting story." JJ laughed patting him on the back.
"Um, it would seem that's going to happen." Hotch looked at his son and smiled. "If they don't mind."
"Not at all Hotch. Stay out late have some fun." Derek smirked at Ava. "It'll do you both some good."
