It felt like fireworks. Now, I don't know what fireworks feel like, or if I can use them as a feeling, but the only things that I could think of in that moment were fireworks. Her body was pressed against mine, her breath close enough to taste, and this time, it wasn't tasting of vodka. I didn't even know what was going on for a second until I heard her calling my name, "Hello? Emily? Anyone home?" I smiled and laughed, running my fingers up her neck and through her hair.

"Yup," I replied, smiling. We laughed a little bit, just standing there, feeling each other's presence and then Alison looked to the ground, pushing me away.

"Um, I think I should get back to study hall."

"Yea, uh, I should too."

She left a little before I did, since I stuck around to stare at myself in the mirror. That felt perfect, so why didn't I want that all of the time?

Suddenly, Delaney walked in just as I was about to leave. She stood in the doorway, looking at me. "Hey, Em," she said, "are you okay, you look a little red."

"I'm fine, just a little hot," I said, turning back to face the mirror.

"Oh really, cause I think I'm starting to get hot in here too," she said, unbuttoning a few buttons on her blouse. I didn't even pay attention. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm just really tired, D. Been a wild day," I said, then wrapping my arms around her. A tear fell down my cheek as I thought of how good everything with her used to feel, and how it suddenly didn't feel right anymore. I wiped it away before she could see, and I stood up, much taller than she, and grabbed her upper arms. "I'm really okay, I'll talk to you later."

I should have broken it off there. I should never have strung her along the way I did. But old habits always seem to return. And maybe I liked being hidden by Alison. It felt normal, which was rare after the last few crazy years. Almost every day, Alison and I would meet in the bathroom like we were little kids. Soon, it got boring.

As Alison sucked on my neck, I found myself looking off into the distance. It was the beginning of November, and next week was spirit week. She stopped when she noticed I wasn't interested. "Em, is everything alright," she asked.

"I'm fine. Just tired."

"You should really try to get some more sleep, you've been tired a lot lately." She now had her arms across her chest, and an evil look in her eye. She went to go get her bag, but I called out to her before she could leave.

"Ali, wait. I like you. I really like you. But this sneaking around, it gets exhausting."

"I'm not the one telling you to sneak around. You're doing it yourself. I'm not the one with a girlfriend here."

"Are you making me chose between you and Delaney?"

Alison froze. "Maybe I am. Maybe you need to."

Hey guys, Wattpad has been very glitchy lately. The formatting for this chapter didn't work out and I attempted to publish about ten chapters, which said they went through, but now that I'm looking back today, they're all gone. I'm not sure what's been happening. I'll try to keep this going but Wattpad has been very glitchy lately.
