"Because I exist only for you, but the thing is, you exist only for you too."

.
"Okay, I've got one."
.
Without hesitation, another handful of salty popcorn was guzzled into my mouth. My eyes never leaving the stars as I lay against the roof of Calum's bedroom. A regular occurrence for a Thursday night.
.
"Shoot." He mumbled smoothly. I could feel his gaze against my skin. Part of me still couldn't understand why he wanted to be with me, he was heaven on Earth, I swear it.
.
I propped myself up on my elbows, turning my head so that our eyes could meet.
"Why are people so scared of you?"
.
He instantly seemed taken a back, you could almost see his brain beginning to run many possibilities through his mind.
Eventually, he averted his eyes to the beautiful sky and shrugged.
.
I waited for some sort of elaboration.
He knew what I was doing.
.
"I guess I'm just intimidating. I shut people out, you know that."
.
I did know that. He was a very closed book. Not shy, just unwilling to converse with almost anyone.
.
"Well I'm not scared of you."
I concluded, laying back down against the cool tiles nonchalantly.
.
He sighed heavily.
"I know . . . That's what worries me."
.
A chuckle escaped my lips. I couldn't help it. How could I ever fear someone who I loved this much? Especially when I knew the huge softy he really was. There was just no way.
.
"No, really. They're right to be unsettled. You should be afraid too."
.
I turned to look at him again. He was already watching me. "Why?" I asked skeptically.
.
He sighed again and closed his eyes lightly shut.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I suddenly backed down, not wishing to push him.
.
His eyes opened again. "No, it's okay. I want you to see all of me. I love you, (Y/N). More than I've ever loved anything or anyone before."
.
I noticed my heartbeat had quickened slightly. Apparently he noticed it too.
"Don't be scared, baby." My eyes must have given me away as he explained.
"I can hear your heart beat. Calm down."
.
"H-how can you . . ." I trailed off, watching as he sat up.
.
"Please don't freak out, okay? You know I'd never hurt you."
.
I nodded, my eyes locked on his body as he scrunched every inch of himself up, pure concentration spreading all over his expression.
To my absolute wonder and amazement, he looked back up at me, his face paler than a sheet of white paper and his eyes shone yellow before flickering back to their normal colour.
.
His scared, but exactly the same, loving and warm brown eyes poured into my own. After a moment, I cautiously shimmied forwards, bringing my hand bravely to stroke across his ghost like cheek. His head relaxed into my palm, his entire being calming down as he knew I accepted this. I accepted him for who he was.
.
I dared myself to go closer, pressing a soft kiss against his lips, which were still his lips, and then whispering excitedly in his ear.
"This is awesome."

The enchanting atmosphere and beautiful trees completely distracted me from everyone's warnings.
What could even be so bad about these woods anyway?
.
I needed some photos for my photography course, and quite honestly this place fit the brief perfectly.
A while into my time I had taken all the photos I needed, yet I decided to pry a little further. Who knew when I'd get the opportunity to explore this exciting place again?
.
A branch snapped suddenly in the distance and my heart stopped.
Deciding I was being silly, I forced my feet forward. There are loads of animals in these woods, of course I'm not alone.
.
Not too long after however, another branch snapped. It was closer this time. Much closer. Not even a moment later, the sound occurred again. Louder than ever before. My palms began to grow clammy and my chest closed right. I could feel my accelerating pulse in my ears, and suddenly I realised I didn't know how to get back out of here. I didn't even know which direction anymore.
.
The sound appeared right behind me. My head snapped around in a reflex, but nothing was there. Timidly, I peered into the woods, though again, there was nothing.
And then, I can't be sure of which events happened in which order, but I had been pinned to the ground, something heavy and furry on top of me.
.
It growled and my eyes opened. My entire body was quivering and my blood turned cold with fear. There was a wolf on top of me. A wolf!
.
The wolf bared it's teeth to me, threatening me with each long and yellow point. Was this it? Was I about to be eaten? I yelped out in pain as another wolf came and then another. One of them biting my foot, bringing to me more hurt than I'd ever experienced in my life.
.
But then, in a blur another wolf came. A bigger and stronger wolf, growling at the others. The wolves on me weren't backing down. They growled straight back, sizing up to him. It was three against one, he had no chance. I took the chance to move, but my foot was in far too much pain. I looked down at my left leg, but the blood was covering too much to see the real damage.
.
It was clear however, that I wasn't escaping anywhere. I was stuck. Suddenly one of my attacking wolves made a move on the intruder but he was too quick. He slashed the wold across the face and it let out a heartbreaking cry.
.
The other two magically became scared off, deciding that perhaps I just wasn't worth the fight. My breathing quickened again as my saviour wolf came closer. Was he going to eat me now? Did he only save me to have me all to himself?
.
His paws padded along the crunchy leaves until he was next to me. His eyes poured into mine and I was shocked at how beautifully green they were. They almost seemed . . . Human.
.
After what seemed like forever, his head turned to my injured foot and began licking some of the blood away. The pain really was becoming unbearable, my vision blurring until it left altogether. I passed out on the forest floor, both relieved and terrified. Why hadn't I listened?
.
3 weeks later.
.
That night I had woken up in my bed. My parents later told me they found me passed out on the porch, apparently the door bell had gone off. They rushed me to hospital and thankfully my foot was only broken, it was still there, just a little chewed.
.
At school, things were different. I was the crazy girl who cried wolf. People were so incredibly disbelieving that even I was beginning to question what happened that night.
.
A group of boys from the years above loomed towards me. My stomach clenched as I knew what was about to happen. One of the boys howled and another grabbed his foot.
"Wolf, wolf!" Another cried, before they all burst out laughing.
.
My fists clenched under my books.
"Hey, leave her alone." A separate  voice growled. My eyes trailed up to meet the face of the sound, and my heart dropped like a stone.
Those eyes. I'd know them anywhere. The other boys scoffed but wandered off anyway.
.
I stared at him and he began walking at a fast pace away. Grabbing my crutches, I limped behind him. Determined. I knew I wasn't crazy, I knew it!
"Hey!" I shouted after him. "Please wait. Please."
.
Even my voice was exasperated. He paused, clearly thinking something over long and hard before eventually turning around. I limped the last remaining feet over and looked into his eyes again, just to be sure.
"It's you." I mumbled. "You saved me, didn't you?"
.
He looked down, a hand running through his surprisingly red hair.
"W-what are you-"
.
"The other night in the woods. That wolf, he was you wasn't it?"
.
He finally looked up, he eyes afraid and unsure. "You aren't scared of that?"
.
"Why would I be scared of someone who saved my life?"
.
He shrugged and his cheeks flushed.
"Thank you." I said. "I will forever be in your debt."
.
His confidence suddenly flooded back.
"Not if you make it up to me." He grinned.
.
"But how?" I asked, confused.
.
"By going on a date with me." He smiled, shrugging again.
.
Of course I said yes.
