There are many amazing things that can happen to us. Things such as getting a scholarship to Harvard, meeting a famous artist, or finding out that you have powers that others don't.
It all started in high school. Freshman year. Things were weird back then. I didn't have many friends and I was kind of the nerd of the school.
I was bullied by this kid named Nathaniel. He made my life a living hell. My life was miserable during those first few months.
But things started to change. First of, this new kid named Nick had just transferred to my highschool. For a blonde, he was very smart.
He also was super friendly to me. We met in biology class after we were paired up to do an assignment together. His jokes were horrible but they always made me laughed.
Long story short, we became very good friends. He made the rest of highschool bearable for me and I was greatful for that.
Let's skip ahead to junior year. Friday October 10th. It was very windy and cold outside. No surprise, that's regular weather here in Seattle.
I decided to put on my blue jacket and run downstairs to eat breakfast. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich was always my choice for breakfast, it was fast and quick.
After that, I said my goodbyes to my parents and exited my house. Nick lived just a few blocks from where I lived so I always walked to his house so we could walk together to school.
However, today wasn't one of those normal days. After turning the corner, I noticed six black vans parked outside his house. The house was sorrounded.
I was very worried and I was wondering what the heck was happening. I stayed there standing and watching for a few minutes until I saw Nick and his parents come out with suitcases.
"Nick, what's happening?" I yelled.
Nick just looked at me. He seemed scared."I can't tell you but I think I'll be okay." He said back. They got into the car and left. Everyone left. Just like that.
I decided to go back home instead of going to school. I was very angry and worried that something might happen to him.
When my mom got home from work, she asked me why I didn't go to school. I said I wasn't feeling very well.
She looked at me straight into my eyes and then she asked me, "Nick?"
I looked at her. I was confused. How did she know about Nick?Did someone tell her?
I simply nodded and stood up from the couch and walked towards my room.
As I laid on my bed, I ran through the things that I saw today. Why were there black vans outside of his house? Was his family a known revolutionary leader? Is that why they moved to Seattle three years ago?
My head was spinning in circles as I tried to think of an explanation for today. Things were not right, something out of the ordinary was going on and I had to find out fast!
