I wake up to the sound of my alarm, which I totally hate, and struggled to get up from bed.
I walked over to the bathroom and try my best not to fall asleep while I brushed my teeth. While I get ready my mom calls me to go downstairs to tell me something, so I quickly put on my shoes and run down the stairs.
She was in the kitchen with my dad. My dad was eating his breakfast on the table and my mom was making some eggs.
My mom starts talking about what was going on and the rules while she starts making the pancakes.
She said that the government has this secret program where they take people and kids to this facility if they have supernatural powers. They determine if you have powers when you are born. They take blood samples of every baby that is born, they experiment with the blood to find out if you have powers or not.
First of all, how can the government keep track on the number of babies born. To be honest, I bet a baby is being born right at this moment, and then they have to keep track on their blood sample? This is too much, sometimes I wonder how does the world works.
My mom of course continued telling me that is very rare to find someone with powers. Out of the 318.9 million people living on the U.S, only seven thousand have powers, in which they are all located here, underground.
Then my mom said that the van thing was just to see if I was ready to come. They do this to people that they think are ready for training. Again, let me repeat myself, this is super creepy. My mom said that that's what they told her yesterday during the meeting.
Then she goes on to say,
"Ohh, there are only a few rules. Your dad and I would leave each morning to work in the city. We would take a bus with others and one of the officials would take us to our assigned jobs. The rules are that you're not allowed to sneak into anywhere, you will not tell anyone about this. You are not allowed to fight with others or steal anything. And finally if you want to go to the surface, you will only be allowed to go during the weekends with an official with you, you are not allowed to go up until you are 18. Officer Parlic is your assigned officer who would take you and your friends if you would want to go out. And that's probably all the rules. Wait, one more, you have to complete every assignment they give you in school and at training.""I have to go to school?" I asked very disappointed and stressed already.
"Yes, starting tomorrow " said my dad with a serious tone from across the table with half a bacon in his mouth.
As he said that, we heard the a knock on the door. It was Nick! I always get excited when I see him. My mom opens the door and lets him in.
"Hello Nick, how have you been?" said mom.
"Hi Mrs. Johnson. I've been good" he responded with his amazing sweet voice.
"How are your parents?" My dad asked him. I knew he was going to ask that question since Nick's dad and my dad were very good friends and so were his mother and my mom.
"They are very good. They got very excited once they heard that you guys were coming. They live just down the street. You guys should go. Apartment 306" said Nick.
"That's what we are going to do now" said my mom as she cleaned her hands.
"We should probably leave Nick." I said after shoving a piece of bacon in my mouth and standing up from the table.
"Okay." He said and he reached his hand to grab mines.
We left the house and walked to the train station. I was just so happy to see him again. It had been six whole months without him. I was going to go crazy without him. After walking for a while I noticed Emma from a distance and when I called her over, Nick let go of my hand for some reason.
