Sunday

Today is sunday. Today was all about fun. I had asked my parents if I could go to the movie theater today and see a new movie. I was excited, it was one of those days where you and your friends just have a really fun time. I just couldn't wait.

Emma of course picked the time of the movie to an early time. She wanted Dylan and I to meet her at the park at 10 am. Yes, we were going to see the movie in the morning which is weird but it was something different for me and I wanted to see if I liked it.
But instead of going to the park, I just walked over to her house since it was right next to mines.

So I started walking towards Emma's house, which was a few feet away from mine, and right when I'm about to knock on the wooden door, Dylan quickly opens the door from the inside out.

"Hello Ethan, how are you doing today?" Dylan asked me.
"Umm...Okay I guess" I said to him.

Last time I saw Dylan, he was crying. He ran away from me and even pushed me towards a brown bench that was behind me. Today, he was acting differently. You would expect Dylan to have an angry attitude towards me or would just ignore me and walk around me. I was not even expecting him to come to the movies today, but he was acting differently. He seemed renewed, he seemed like a person that has gone through a transformation. He wasn't wearing his glasses today which made the details of his face pop out a little better. He was happier and was often smiling at me. It was different, it was strange.

"So about last night" I started to apologize about last night. I didn't want him to be angry at me, I wanted him and I to have a good relationship.

"What about last night?" Dylan seemed clueless. It was like if Dylan's memory had been erased and all of the information from last night were no longer memorable.

"Well, I kind of said something very bad and you ran off and I thought I would apologize for what I said". I told him. I was trying to explain to him what really happened and that I didn't mean what I did.

"Ohh that" he said acting like it was a long time "that old thing, I understand and I forgive you". He said back to me while putting his hand on my shoulder. He was different. The regular Dylan wouldn't say that. The regular Dylan would start asking me questions about the reason why I did what I did. But this time, he acted like it was no big deal and tried to brush it off.

"Now, let's go find Emma" he said and then pulled me close to him with his arm around my neck and shoulders.
I couldn't understand what was happening, it was extremely weird to me that Dylan would be acting this way.

"She isn't at her house?" I asked him. I was curious as to why would Dylan be at Emma's house if Emma wasn't there.

"Nope" he said, still with his arm around my neck while we were walking. I'm not complaining but I find this very unusual and weird.

"Then what were you doing inside her house?" I asked him to further know his reasons.

"Well I knocked on the door and her mom opened it, she offered me to come in and I did, I sat on the couch and she offered me some coffee and of course I accepted. We talked about usual things and she told me that Emma was at the park, she's a nice lady you know".

Again, this is a very unusual behavior that is comming from Dylan right now. He wouldn't go and start a conversation with an adult, he doesn't even drink coffee. One of my best friend was becoming a stranger right in front of my eyes.

I had realized that I had been staring at his eyes for a quite some time now. His arm around my shoulder made me feel secured and warm. His voice brought a sweet sound to my ears and made me feel hypnotized while I walked with him. I felt like a wizard had casted a spell on me and that that wizard was Dylan and I was his sweet victim.
