Rejected at First Sight

Chapter 7

2 weeks...

Everything had happened so fast. I was due in 4 weeks and tomorrow was the day Ash and I had to go in front of the Elders and explain our case. My Uncle Kane was going to meet us there.It had been a long time since I had seen Uncle Kane. The last time we saw him, was when my Aunt Becky died. He hadn't found another mate. Dad figures it was because Uncle Kane has his kids. I've never met my cousins. They were left at home while we buried Aunt Becky. I was so nervous about tomorrow. It didn't help that the baby was awake and moving inside of me. I put my hand over my belly trying to calm her down. But it didn't help. Suddenly arms came from behind and pulled me into a hard chest. I knew it was Ash, not only did the sparks give it away, but the baby would always calm down when he touched my belly. It was the weirdest thing. I turned and gave him a big hug. We buried our faces into each others neck. I loved the smell of him. It soothed me and made me less nervous about tomorrow.

"Calm down, my love. Everything will work out in our favor." "I know but, staking our claim to the throne will put us in more danger and plus we will have to leave our pack." "No,  I talked to your dad and uncle, they said that they could move into the palace with us or move close to it. We won't leave anyone behind I promise." I let out a breathe of relief. I still couldn't believe that I was going to be a queen of an entire country. It scared me, thinking about what my child would have to grow up in. It was bad enough that I thought he or she would have to learn to become an Alpha, but now they had to learn to be royal. I had no idea how to raise someone up like that. I was hoping my cousins would help me with that.

A knock at the door came, Ash and I looked at the door as it opened. On the other side was my Uncle Kane and a teenager I expected was Drake. I smiled and ran to Uncle Kane. "Hi Uncle Kane, you look good." He smiled. "And you look very beautiful. The pregnancy bring a wonderful glow to you." I smiled. "This is Drake, my oldest son. He wanted to meet you before tomorrow so it wouldn't be so awkward." I looked at Drake smiled. "Hi Drake." "Hi Jocelyn, I was wondering if you would accompany me for a walk. I would love to get to know you before we live together." "Oh sure." I looked at Ash. He walked toward me kissed me on the forward and said,"Have fun Jocie." 

Drake and I started off and at first it was very awkward. Then Drake started talking. "So how does it feel?" "How does what feel?" "Going through all this?" "Oh, um.. Well, I have Ash so the burden isn't as bad as it would be if I was alone. Plus I have to remember not to be so stressed, its not good for the baby." "I see, you are very strong." "Thank you Drake. I was wondering something." "What is that?" " I was wondering if you could teach me how to act like a royal?" "You want to act like a royal? Why would you want to do that?" "I'm going to be queen and I don't want to be stupid when it comes to it." "My dear cousin, from what I've seen, you will be a perfect queen. you haven't even been titled and you are already worried about your people's welfare. You do not need any help from me. It is I that need help from you." I looked at him in shock. "Why in the world would you need help from me?" "I have a mate, but she despises me. She will not reject me, but she does not want me either. I am stuck. I want her to be with me, but I haven't a clue on how to get her to love me."

We continued to walk and I was trying to figure out what to say to him. "Do you know why Ash and I are doing what we are doing?" "Not really. Father just said that you need to claim you title and that you and your mate needed to talked to the elders about a problem." "Ok well that's part of it." I told him everything. As I told him, I could tell he was getting angrier by the second. "How dare he!" "You know for a 16 year old, you talk like an elder." "Is that a bad thing?" "No, it's just weird. Most teenagers don't talk like that." "Well how do they talk." "They don't talk that formal." "Oh." "Hey you might just want to try and talk to her. She might not know you want her." "Why would she think that." "probably for the same reason Viktor didn't want me." "But I have never said that to her. I have tried very hard to talk to her." "Ya, but she might feel like that because she is not of any important rank, you want to talk to her because you want to reject her." "But it is not true!" "Hey, I know it's not true, but she doesn't" "Jocelyn, can I ask you a favor?" "Sure, what do you need?" "To talk her and tell her that I desire to talk to her. Please." "Yes Drake, I will do that for you." He hugged and thanked me over and over again.

We walked back up to the house and our talking came to an end. We walked into the living and into a scene I never thought I would walk into. Viktor was being held by all of the males in my family, except for my cousin who also stood in shock next me. "What in the name of the moon goddess is going on?!" "This pup thought he could walk in here and try to get you to run away with him." "What the... Viktor! I told you I don't know how many times I've told you. I love Ash. I'm married to him and having his pup. Do you understand me!?" The next time you try something I will let my dad, brother, uncle, cousin, and mate hurt you and just remember that those aren't the only males that will protect me against you. My whole pack will hurt you if you do anything to me or Ash." Viktor looked at me like I betrayed him in the worst way. "Jocelyn, I love you! What have I done was for you own good. My father threaten me when I told him my suspicions of being your mate. He threaten to kill you if I accepted you!" "Viktor, I could careless. All of this is on you. if you truly loved me, you would've fought for me, but you listened to your father. I have no sympathy for you. Like I told you before, I'm glad you rejected me. I would've never met Ash or even be pregnant. You actually did me a favor. Now get the hell out of my house." 

After Viktor was basically thrown out of the house, Ash ran up to me and grabbed me into a hug. "I'm ok babe, I'm ok." He sighed and let go. Everybody took their turn hugging me and then the unimaginable happen. I grunted in pain and I knew it was time. Ash looked straight at me and I could see the panic. "Guys it's time." Everything happened so fast for the second time this past month. Mom got me to the room we agreed I would have the baby. Dean got everything I need, while dad went to go get the pack doctor. Ash held my hand through the whole time. Mom kept me comfortable while we waited for the doctor. The contractions were getting closer and I looked at Ash and said,"Never again am I going through this." He smiled and chuckled. "You say that now, but wait til we get to hold our baby for the first time." I started to smile but another contraction hit and I groaned in pain. "So" i said, "Girl or boy?" "I'm telling you Joce were having a boy." I shook my head.  "Nope a girl" He kissed my forehead and said,"We'll see."

After 8 hours, I finally gave birth to a baby girl and boy. It turned out that when we went to the ultrasound, the boy had been hiding his sister. Turns out we were both right. I looked at Ash who was holding Xander. I smiled. It warmed my heart. I couldn't believe that I was pregnant with twins and know they were here. Shannon Kay and Alexander Michael were here and were perfect. I heard the door open and Mimi was holding Shannon. "Hey mama, how are you feeling?" I smiled. "Very tired, but I'm ecstatic that my babies are here." Mimi smiled. "Well guess what?" "What?" "I'm pregnant!" "Oh my goodness." "Ya I just found out. I told Dean and you were who I wanted to tell next." I told her to come closer and I hugged her. "Now mama, get some sleep me and Dean are taking care of the twins while you and Ash get some rest. You guys have a big day tomorrow." I sighed. I couldn't stand the thought of being away from my babies. I just gave birth to them, but I knew she was right. Dean came into the room gave me a big hug and whispered into my ear,"You did good lil sis. I love you and get some rest." He then went to take Xander and Ash gave him a small smile. I knew that Ash felt the same way I felt. When Dean and Mimi left, Ash crawled into bed and we went to sleep faster then we thought.
