Chapter 26

*1 year later*

Getting over somebody is not easy, but do you know what keeps hanging you on? The thought of him being happy. That’s how I am still going, I live in LA now, far away as possible from my old life. I had a different job, a guidance councillor in high schools, to help children with their problems.

It was a Saturday and I was making lunch in my apartment when I heard the bell ring, who could this possibly be? I thought, I went to open the door and saw him. After a year, he found me, although I told them to never look for me, he did and he found me. He looked just like how I remember him, his blue eyes twinkled as he saw me.

‘’Emily’’ he whispered, I stood speechless, ‘’how did you find me’’ I finally asked, ‘’it wasn’t easy, but it doesn’t matter, I found you at last!’’ he exclaimed, ‘’why are you here?’’ I asked him ‘’because, I love you, and that day that you were gone, was the day I was going to propose to you but you left, you didn’t think I was going to forget you that easily, did you? he said, ‘’I’m sorry’’ I told him, a tear streamed down my face, ‘’that wasn’t the best choice, the best one is you and me when we are together, I love you with all my heart Emily, I can’t live without you, I’ve spent this year miserably looking for you! And now that I’ve found you, I’m never going to let you go’’ he said and got onto one knee, I gasped, ‘’so Emily, will you do me the honours and marry me?’’ he asked, I didn’t know what to say, I loved him with all my heart but I was afraid of hurting him, ‘’I don’t know, I’m afraid that something bad will happen’’ I told him, ‘’if it does, we will conquer it together, nothing is going to tear us apart’’ he said, ‘’what do you say?’’ he asked ‘’Yes, I do, a million times yes!’’ I finally told him, he released a huge sigh of relief and put the ring in my finger, then he hugged me tightly.
