Hello, I have separated this chapter into two parts because it became too long.
Hope you enjoy

Hanbin's POV

Everyone gathered around the table.
The police was called.
Everything felt so surreal as if we were filming for a Hollywood movie.

A kidnapping.
The chase.
Suspense.
Everything.
A sinister man who wants to play a game.

It still hasn't occurred to me that something I always see in action films were playing out in my life. Just like the films we were waiting for the call from the man.
Apprehension settled upon the group of commanders and officers in the form of silence. No sound was made just the occasional papers and crinkling sounds of paper or tapping of one using the computer or phone.
We are all waiting for the next move.
Patience was required but that was something I've always lacked.
I began pacing up and down the hallway.
Waiting.
Two hours have passed and finally a ring.
I picked it up and at the corner of my eye, I witnessed a collective synchronised movement of the police personnel all trying to find the location of Hayi.
Their fingers tapping away on computer-like technology with their eyebrows furrowed together. In the distance a figure was quietly instructing the group on their tasks.

I diverted my attention back to the call.

"Hello," I offered to the phone.

A croaky voice responded, "hello, are you ready to start the game?"

"I need to know that Hayi is safe with you,"

A few seconds of silence, then a voice was on the end of the call.

"Hanbin?"

I felt my heart break a little.
Hayi's voice sounded soft and fragile.
I can imagine the darkened circles around her eyes, her helpless expression.

"I'm going to get you out of the-"

The phone call stopped.
The abrupt ending caused the insides of my stomach to shrivel into a tight knot.

"What happened?" I asked.
The officers shrugged.
"I thought he wanted to commence the game?!"

A ball of fury was rising within me.
My legs wobbled and stumbled onto a nearby chair
My fury was soon replaced with doubts and worry.

What if those were my last words to her?
What if the police doesn't get to her in time?
I shook the thoughts away. With doubts slowly dealing out of my system, it was not till then that I have realised how cold my hands and feet have become. On cue, I felt a hand on my shoulders, I looked up and met eyes of a stranger.

"Don't worry, we will get her out of there,"
The man in the uniform offered what could be a reassuring smile, but the bleak reality was so empty that I couldn't possibly find any light.

I responded with a nod.
"I hope so," was all I could mutter.

A few minutes later, my phone received a text.

I'll call you again tomorrow I am quite tired I'll start the game a bit later when my zeal returns , cheerio,"

A wave of anger and frustration crashed upon me once again.
Cheerio? What was so cheery about the situation, his subliminal ridiculing probed my insides. My desire to spit out all the profanities I know heightened to a terrifying peak.

I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes trying to still my insides.

"Got her location," one of the team member called out.
My heart leaped out.
Finally some progress.

My phone was attached to a device which allowed us to locate the location where the othe recipient was calling from and now we have found Hayi's location.

The team leader then assigned everyone's tasks.
"You stay here and inform us where to go,"
"Taehoon, you and team A will come with me to corner him,"
"Wooyong and Heeyun, you go and assemble the artilleries,"

I watched as everything unfolded.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
The murmurs, shuffling of people's feet, the rhythmic sounds of the clock nearby. My attention then turned to my heart.
The muscle inside of me was pumping harder than usual, the rush of adrenaline flooded my body.
I was nervous, to say the least.

We were planning to raid the place where this crazy guy is holding Hayi hostage but that is our intention, would it be successful?
I don't know what might happen, all I can do right now is to create scenarios in my head and let it plague me for the time being.
