The Move

I woke up to the sound of ruckus occurring in my mom's room which was unusual because my mom was almost always asleep when I wake up. I was asleep on the floor accompanied by my fluffy, white bestfriend (aka my dog, Wink) a sleeping bag and matching throw pillow. The rest of my bedroom was probably half way to the coast by now. I shivered as my feet came in contact with the stone, cold wood. Why couldn't I have carpet? Or at least some slippers. I threw on my robe and headed towards the source of the noise. My mom was fiddling with her suitcase trying to hurry and put her remaining clothing and necessities into it, and she was constantly yelling at my other dog Sugar, who was a huge teddy bear, unless you're trying to hurt her family, then at that point you can take the teddy out of teddy bear. "What are you doing?" I said hazily, still sleepy from my previous night's rest. "Packing, and you should be too," FRICK! Today was the day we were boarding the airplane to our new home. We currently live in Texas, but because of a job offer my mom received, we're moving to California. I wasn't upset like most would be, I was actually quite happy. It's summer so I don't have to endure the torture of being a new girl for my junior year. I was born in LA, but because of complications we moved to Texas then we moved to Seattle then we moved back to Texas and now we're moving back to Cali. I was "known" at my school, I guess you could even say I was popular, but I didn't really like nor trust anyone enough to be buddy buddy with them. I ran back to my room, did the usual routine, and was done in about 15 minutes. I began to pack all my remaining clothes into a suitcase.
About an hour later, the taxi had arrived and my mom and I stared at our house as we tried to recall all the memories of the past years. Not that there were many, I mean it was just my mom and I my whole life. Christmas was spent alone, as well as any other holiday. We closed the door and walked down the pathway towards our new life.
