As the movers brought in the heavier pieces of furniture, my mom and I brought in the smaller boxes and began to unpack. I took this time to tour the house. The living room was wooden and the kitchen and bathrooms were tile. It had a total of 3 bedrooms, which were carpet, hallelujah, and 3 bathrooms. My mother took the master which had a bathroom within itself as well as a walk in closet. I claimed the second biggest room which also had a bathroom with a slightly smaller closet. My mom wasn't very organized you could say, so I dealt with most of the furniture placement.
Within an hour, all of our furniture and decor was in place and most of the boxes were unpacked, so all that was left was our rooms. My mother was set on making sure that the bathroom, kitchen, and living room were "perfect" before tending to her room. I left her with her task and focused on mine that was at hand. Our house was beach themed, which I thought went well with our new location. My bed was placed against a wall because I need something behind me so that I feel secure. Call me a baby, but I really don't care. I had a white bed frame with a matching white dresser. On my bed laid an aqua blue comforter (seeing as aqua is my favorite color),and white pillows. I laid down my aqua blue rug at the side of my bed and began to hang up my quotes. Each wall was decorated differently. On one wall it had my crosses and bible quotes that were painted on canvases in different fonts hanging above my bed. On another, it had all my inspirational quotes that I wrote on sticky notes spelling out the world love in Aqua. White sticky notes surrounded it making it look like a white rectangle with an aqua "Love" in it. On the third there was a window in the middle of the wall, so I just hung my Christmas lights around it. The window opened to a balcony with railings on it.
It'll be a place I go when I can't sleep.
The fourth wall was blank because I planned to take pictures on my Polaroid Mini with my bestfriend, that I will soon find, and fill up the wall with memories. Christmas lights lined the top of the walls surrounding my room with light and filling it with joy. As I was in the process of hanging up my curtains, I noticed that a window was placed directly across from mine. Who's stupid enough to to plan that out? It just SCREAMS privacy😑. I made a mental note to keep my blinds and curtains closed.
It was still kind of early in the day, so I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood to get a feel for what it's like.
