Sarah paced up and down her cell, like she had done for the last hour. The other inmates had said that it gets better, you become calmer and you become more relaxed, and she had seen evidence of this, prisoners who just sat and stared all day. In a way she was glad she hadn't calmed down, hadn't gone numb. There was the clinking of keys and two guards came in. Sarah was puzzled, it wasn't like it was meal time or anything, but when they took out the handcuffs she thrust out her hands and allowed herself to be led down a series of corridors towards a large roomed filled with tables and glass partitioning. Sitting at one table was Sacha and as the guards started to handcuff her to the chair Sacha spoke "There's no need to do that, really. And if you could please leave us in privacy, I'd like to spend a few minutes in private, to say goodbye"

The guards looked unconvinced but when Sacha slipped them an envelope they just nodded and left the room.

"Sacha, wonderful you could finally find the time to visit me, after all it's the least you could do."

"I had to pass the law, it's all because of Anna, and that's why I'm here. You didn't kill your sister."

"And? You still got me sentenced to death. And what the fuck does Anna have to do with anything. Unlike the rest of you she's visited me."

"She would have, it stops anyone getting even the slightest bit suspicious, it stops anyone realising that nothing adds up."

"You're crazy. I'd say that you were mad with guilt, if I thought you had a heart."

"Sarah, let's pretend that I am truly evil-"

"We don't have to pretend. When you talked to Anna at the funeral you were probably threatening her."

"Please, listen to me. Let's say I am evil, don't interrupt, what would I gain from killing you. Nothing, I have no grudge against you. On the other hand Anna..."

"Sorry, you seemed to have stopped. Why would Anna hate me."

"That's why I'm here."

"Oh, I knew there was a reason you'd finally visit me"

"Don't be like that. I'm trying to save your life. So if there is anything you might have done to piss her off please tell me. Anything?"

There was pause and Sacha began to think that Sarah was just ignoring her until she suddenly shifted in her seat and started to speak. "I'll tell you but you have to promise I don't get in trouble for this."

"You have me word."

"What good is your word?"

"What do you want me to swear on?"

"Friendship. Swear on our friendship that I won't get punished for what I tell you."

"I promise."

"Okay, look into the death of Anton."

"Anton?"

"Anna's brother."

"Thanks" Sacha said, starting to get up from her chair.

"Good bye then. Just leave as soon as you get the information, don't even talk to the friend who's going to die."

"I have to go, I have things to do and if I succeed you won't be the dying friend and we will have tons of time to speak. I promise." With that Sacha turned around and left.

She was hardly out the door when she picked up her phone to call xorsheed. The phone rung for what seemed like hours before it was picked up.

"Jesus Sacha, did you have to call right then. I almost dropped my phone. Okay, I'm okay." there was a pause "I have about twenty minutes and then I'll be in a meeting."

"Okay, I'll be quick." Sacha said, oblivious to the hidden meaning in the word meeting. "I need to talk to you about Anna. She killed Jamie"

"Fuck. Okay. What do you want me to do with this information?"

"I need you to help me? You're close to Anna right?"

"I guess, we meet up and chat occasionally."

"Great. I need you to ask her about Anton."

"Right. What's that going to do to help?"

"It will just help, trust me."

"Bye."

Sacha hung up the phone and then stashed it away. If she wasn't so preoccupied maybe she would have noticed the strange lack of emotion Xorsheed was displaying, but she was busy. She needed to talk to Giovanna so she steeped into the street and hailed a taxi.

She sat on the white sofa outside Giovanna's office before being let in by Giovanna who she noticed walked around the rug on the floor while stepping to her desk.

"Why are you here? Because if you're going to shout at me for....for killing Jamie then leave. My nightmares already do that."

"No, I want to punish Anna for doing this to you."

"How?"

"The plan we talked about. But this time better. I talked to Sarah so I know a motive and I got Xorsheed involved-"

"Xorsheed. You talked to Xorsheed?"

"Yeah, because she's closer to Anna so it will be easier to ask questions."

"Of course she's close to Anna, she works for Anna."

"Wait. What? I thought she was in property development."

"Yeah and Bracey Corporations is an actual company."

"I'm sorry for not realising that everyone in our group is a corrupt bitch."

"You don't have to realise that, you just have to use your brain. Don't trust anyone except for those who would lose something by going against you, like Sarah. Okay, we have a problem, but only a slight one. Xorsheed will tell Anna that we're trying to take her down so our plan won't work and she's probably going to try and kill us. But don't worry, she killed Jamie using me, not Xorsheed, so if we're careful we should be fine, or at least we'll survive until we can get Sarah off death row."

"You sure we'll survive long enough to save Sarah. Because I have a promise to keep."
