⚠️I'm going to warn you ahead of time that this is going to be a short chapter⚠️

The dining pavilion was louder than I had expected. I sat with the Hermes cabin. Being one of the younger demigods there, it was pretty awkward. I just sat there. I hadn't made any friend yet, but the kids all seemed pretty nice.
It was cool how my glass kept refilling with Sprite and my plate with fried chicken and barbecue. The Hermes cabin laughed and joked and I just listened. I had to stifle a few laughs. They were actually pretty funny.
Some jokes included things like: How do you fit an elephant in the fridge? You take out all the shelves and shove it in.
How do you fit a giraffe in the fridge? You take out the elephant.
And
Roses are red.
Your blood is too.
You look like a monkey
And belong in a zoo.
Do not worry,
I'll be there too.
Not in the cage,
But laughing at you.

Now that I think about it the jokes are pretty dumb. But that's not the point. I just wanted to get out of this cabin and start hanging out with some half-brothers and -sisters.

I heard the conch shell sound, signaling it was time for the campfire. I stood up and started walking out. Right when everybody was leaving, a colored light washed over me. Everyone stared.
