CHAPTER ELEVEN: An Unnecessary Teaching Moment

Rita Skeeter was stood at the back of our Care of Magical Creatures class. Her and the quick notes quill made notes, the scratching of the nib was driving me insane.
The Blast-ended Skrewts had the appearance of a lobster and a scorpion without a head and roughly ten foot tall.
"I can definitely see the need to ensure they are alive," Draco spoke sarcastically as he looked into the wooden box," Why wouldn't anyone want a pet who can sting, burn and bite you all at once, rabbits pfft I want a headless crab."
Harry glared at the back of his head, however, I wasn't too thrilled about having to look after one.

Behind me, Rita was interviewing any Slytherin who was willing to talk. Seamus poked a stick into the box, jumping back when he got several angry hisses in return.
"Next class we will be taking them on a walk," Hagrid spoke happily.
Parkinson hid behind Draco," Walking them?"
"Yes, they need exercise as much as the next growing animal."
Nodding slowly, I kept as far away from the box as humanly possible whilst still attending the class. In the trees, I saw a familiar head of red hair and a girl with dark hair wearing a green jacket which looked similar to Victoria's.

The bell echoed from the school, Neville and I walked back up to the Castle, on the lawn he said a quick goodbye before heading in the direction of the Greenhouses. Waiting at the top of the hill, Hadleigh took my arm dragging me to the Courtyard.
Down the corridors, half of the school wore 'Cedric Rules' badges, as Harry walked in front of us, we watched the badges change to 'Potter Stinks.'

"I've never see Hufflepuffs be so mean." Hadleigh said sadly as she was forced to take a badge from a first-year pushing them under our noses," It's not like he actually wanted to compete like if he really did it my opinion would change but even on Harry's standards he wouldn't be that stupid."
"They are proud, probably way they get along with Slytherin so much," I muttered as we sat on the picnic table under the willow tree.
Looking over Hadleigh's shoulder, I saw Moody hiding behind the archways - the look he had sent chill up my spine.
"So what did Malfoy want yesterday?" Hadleigh asked," Because that looked a very heated convocation, almost as if you were friends"
I shook my head," he's very... passionate about... Potions."
She nodded," That is true but your lying skills are atrocious."
I shrugged one shoulder.
"How long have you been friends?"
I rubbed my eyes," Three... Years?"
"How, you are sneaky." She shrugged," Explains why he hasn't insulted me in a while."
"You're welcome?" I said pulling a face," You are surprisingly calm about this."
"Oh did you want to me to shout at you?" She nodded," Ok, Celyn Longbottom How dare you, have friends outside of Ravenclaw!"
"Thank you."
She smiled," No worries."

In a slump, Harry listened to the shouts of abuse he was getting from people he thought where friends. Hadleigh waved him over, even though my original opinion still stands of Harry, everyone needs at least one person in their corner.

"Why so tense Potter?"
Hadleigh jumped as she looked up," How did he get in a tree?"
"Why is he in the tree, should be question we are asking ourselves," I said straining my neck, looking up.
"My father and I have a bet you see. I don't think you're gonna last ten minutes in this tournament." Draco smirked, jumping down, his focus was on Harry, "He disagrees. He thinks you won't last five!"

Harry stormed up to Draco," I don't give a damn what you or your father thinks Malfoy. He's vile, cruel and you're just pathetic."
From behind me, Moody's cane hit the stone, however, in his anger Draco wasn't paying attention as he went to get his wand from his pockets. A ribbon of yellow weaved around him like a tornado when the ribbon got to the bottom where Draco was standing was no a snow-white ferret.
"That's adorable," Hadleigh whispered in my ear.

Professor Moody pointed his wand his face was manic and terrifying, the way he was acting reminded me so much of how Sirius acted when he got out of Azkaban. Making rash choices and unable to act normally around groups of people because he wasn't used to it.
