Wake Me Up

Chapter 9

19th of DECEMBER 2010, FRIDAY, 6:00 P.M., PHILIPPINES

After preparing his things, those gifts he would gave to his friends, Karl immediately went down stairs. He was carrying two boxes: a medium sized and small one-which for Josh and Nicole. He headed to the garage, put his gifts inside, and waited for his mom. While waiting for his mom, his phone rang. He looked unto it, and saw a message. The message was,

bro? wer r u? Im already here at school. Ill wait for u at the gate

After reading it, he replied to Josh, and headed back to their house, calling his mom to hurry up. As he headed upstairs, he saw his mother standing, holding a small black box-gift. His mother moved close to him, put his smile on, and said, "I have something for you, little boy!"

Karl's face was lighten up, smiled as what his mother told to him. "What is it mom?" he asked.

"Here, open it." Giving the box to his son.

Karl, as marked in his face, was excited about what was with the gift. He immediately opened it, and saw a watch. It was a brand new model of Tissot watch released a year ago. The watch was his wish last year, and finally he had it. Filled with joy, he hugged his mother tightly, kissed on her cheek, and said, "Thanks mom, you're the best!"

She hugged him back, and replied, "You're welcome, just be happy in this day. I don't wanna see your face frowning, ok?"

"Yes mom! I will."

"Too much for that, c'mon, you're gonna be late for the party," she requested.

"Oow, yeah, I forgot. C'mon!"

His mom and he headed to the garage. Entered the van, and drove hastily to his school.

After a few minutes of journey, they arrived at the school. There were many people-walking, running, bringing their gifts together with their friends, and dancing-the party was already started the moment they arrived the school. As they entered the school, they saw Josh standing at the gate, together with Karl's long time crush, Nicole. His mother stopped the car, helped him got out the van, but before he got his gifts to them, Josh gave him a gift-a small sized gift. Nicole, gave him the same too. Josh and Nicole already gave each other gifts, which Karl's the only one who didn't yet gave his gifts to them. He went back to the car, got the gifts, and gave each to them. First, he gave the medium-sized gift to Josh-it was brand new headphones for his PS Vita. Last, the small-sized one to Nicole, but before he gave it, he moved closer to her ears and whispered, "I don't know if you like it, but I had a hard time thinking of it. Hope you like it, Nicole."

Nicole laughed after Karl whispered to her. She stopped for a moment, then said to him, "Okay, as long as it came from the heart, I will accept it, but I won't open this until Christmas Eve."

After giving their gifts to each other, they immediately went to where the party was. Let the party begin! Karl thought.
