"Josh? What should I do now?" Karl asked Josh. They were calling each other.
"Don't know, maybe we should go there, take a visit, you know...to see her," Josh suggested.
Silence filled Karl's room. Stunned, and couldn't even decide correctly for himself; he was frustrated, felt the pain of a dreadful news, which he never expected it to happen.
"Karl? Are you there?" Josh asked, broke the silence between them.
"Oh...yeah, I-m o-k-a-y," Karl stammered, rubbing his watery eyes.
"So? Are you in?" Josh asked.
"I'm not sure I can, bro. It's too...you know...I can't help myself seeing her lying in the bed, connected by various tubes, the sound of the beeping box besides her...it's just I can't," Karl explained. Poor me, why couldn't I?
Again, silence filled between them. Josh, with his sensitive ears, heard the sobbing of Karl through the speaker of his phone. He felt pity on his best friend.
"Karl, I'm worried about you. Maybe, we should take a visit on her, you know it might help you lessen the thinking you do now," Josh insisted. "Besides, I want to see her, it's been 5 years we haven't seen her since we were in high school. I miss my cousin."
"I don't know Josh, I can't think properly for myself, and maybe mother won't allow me to go there," Karl retorted. I wish I could resist the pain Josh, how I wish.
Still, Karl, with the pain that he couldn't ease, decided not to go yet. He wanted to be alone, to meditate. He wanted that before he went to that place, he already had that positive mind of his.
Just wait for me...I'll be there soon...
