Once the school bell rung Zuri left the classroom before anyone else. They all stared at her as she left. Ichigo scratched the back of his neck. He was planning on saying sorry again.
“What’s wrong with her, Ichigo?” Rukia asked as they stared at Zuri from the window.
“I don’t know” Ichigo mumbled
“See, I told you Ichigo and Rukia are going out” a girl whispered as she passed Ichigo.
Ichigo stared at the girl. Did it really look like he was going out with Rukia? Ichigo glanced down at Rukia and saw that she took no notice in what that girl had just said. Ichigo sighed and then left heading off home. He would talk to Zuri later.
As Ichigo walked down the street, two students were walking in front of him. They seemed to look behind them quite frequently then would giggle and whisper to one another.
“Did you hear about Reizo and Zuri?” one girl whispered
“No?” the other replied.
Ichigo’s ears perked up as he listened what was going on between his girlfriend and Reizo.
“I heard they hang out….a lot” the first girl giggled.
“A lot?” the second one asked.
“Yeah, more than Ichigo and Zuri” the first spoke “I hear he’s staying with her…”
“Do you think they are going out?” the second inquired “Does that mean Zuri’s cheating on Ichigo”
“Probably” the first spoke “Reizo is really hot”
Ichigo growled and clenched his fist as he saw the two girls turn a corner and walk off. He just stared ahead and thought about Zuri. He hadn’t been with her long. Was he going to lose her to Reizo?
Ichigo shook his head, no, his girlfriend would never run off with another man, she loves Ichigo, doesn’t she?
---Later--- (With Zuri)
Zuri was panting over and over again as she stood at the edge of a cliff; she looked down and saw the waves crashing against the rocks below daring her. Zuri kicked off her shoes over the edge of the cliff and watched and waited as her shoes hit the water.
Zuri walked to the edge her toes felt the air as they bent over the cliff top looking down at the water. Zuri looked toward the sun and took a deep breath, she felt the wind kiss at her skin brushing through her air pushing her back.
“Zuri?” a familiar voice whispered.
Zuri’s eyes shot open, she looked over her shoulder at the person to see that it was Reizo, he was unsure about what she was doing. Zuri sighed and looked back at the water, she wasn’t going to commit suicide, someone else has a bullet with her name on, she would wait for them to come and get her.
Dying before your time was not something Zuri wanted to do. Instead Zuri walked away from the edge and fell to her knees on the ground. Why was she acting this way? She was taking it too far.
“Zuri, what’s wrong?” Reizo asked sweetly.
“Strawberry” Zuri mumbled his name
“Strawberry?” Reizo mumbled confused “do you mean Ichigo?”
Zuri nodded “Does it really seem like he is going out with Rukia?”
Reizo chewed his lower lip “I’m sorry, but it does, I always see them together”
Zuri closed her eyes “Oh”
Then she stood up and walked home, Reizo followed her swiftly but kept his distance, he didn’t want to get between Ichigo and Rukia, he just said the truth.
Once Zuri entered her house she walked straight to her room and onto the roof, she glanced up at the stars and thought about today’s events. She laughed, she was being stupid, Ichigo was close to Rukia, she had no feelings for him. Zuri stood up and jumped onto Ichigo’s roof and near Rukia’s room.
“Rukia?” Zuri whispered as she entered through the window
Rukia looked up from the magazine she was reading and eyed Zuri.
“I came to ask you something” Zuri mumbled nervously
“What?” Rukia asked.
“Is there, erm, something going on between you and Ichigo?” Zuri asked not meeting Rukia’s gaze.
Rukia looked at her then burst out laughing “No, nothing is going on, we could never be together anyway”
Zuri sighed and ran a hand through her hair “That’s good then”
Rukia and Zuri talked for the next few hours about everything before Zuri decided to pay a visit to Ichigo unaware of the time.
