"Can you believe we're seniors this year, Alice!" I shouted in a cheery tone as I walked with my best friend Alice."Yeah, yeah." She waved her hand in the air, brushing off my cheeriness as it was too early for it. "Let's just get to school. I don't want to be late on the first day."
Alice was right and I nodded while having a smile on my face. This is already my senior year, I'm sure it'll be fun.
The walk to school was filled with thoughts of those twenty-four people since we'll all be together until next school year.
"I'll see you later at lunch then, Jane." Alice called to me as she turned the opposite way down the hallway. Her light toffee colored hair swished side-to-side in her small bob.
I waved goodbye and soon headed to my class. I wonder who'll be in my class this year, I wonder if I'll make new friends.
Walking through the door of the class I realized my fantasies were cut short as most people had already grouped into their own circles, leaving me out.
I slightly lowered my pace and slouched in my chair when I arrived at my desk.
Looks like my dreams were crushed.
I sighed.
"Monica how is your boyfriend?" A girl voice was heard from behind and I could see them from the corner of my eye.
"He's pretty well. How about yours Amy?" Monica, a girl with light red hair and dark brown eyes asked Amy, who has hair blonde hair and blue eyes.
Maybe my dreams weren't crushed after all...
"Hey there." I said befriending the two of them with my smile. "I'm Jane Dawson."
The response I received from them was a warm greeting as they welcomed me into their circle.
I learned that Monica and Amy both have boyfriends that are in college. Monica's boyfriend is the oldest as he's turning twenty later this November. As for Amy she met her boyfriend recently back in April, they've been together for about four going to five months.
"What about you? Do you have a boyfriend Jane?" Amy asked me as she applied lipstick. I shrugged and looked out the window.
"Truthfully I'm looking for one as I'm still recovering from a past experience in a relationship." I admitted to them and they both gazed at me with curiosity. Although it wasn't a relationship as they currently had. The guy that had broke my heart was no one other than the famous singer Jerix.
He was a singer that everyone loved and supported as his lyrics touched the world. Jerix broke my heart at the age of ten, when he decided to marry the supermodel Riley. Sad for me as he was my everything, but life happens.
"I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. But don't worry because I'm sure your soon-to-be man is out there right now, looking for you." Amy cheered and I smiled at her.
"I agree with Amy. He's probably fighting some war or obstacle and you'll be his unexpected reward." Monica pointed out. It had never occurred to me that way.
"Thank you." I said smiling as I stared at the two of them.
Both of them have opened my eyes to see the undiscovered world of love. A world I'm sure will be fun to experience.
