Ch.8 Wessa (Willem's POV. Time lapse 2 years later)

"JESS WATCH OUT!" I yell across the alcove to Jessa as a demon is about to lunge on to her. But William, her brother, shoots an arrow at it. This was our first attack. And it was probably the most challenging we'll ever have. We were having a campfire in the alcove surrounded by trees in the park when a demon lurked out from behind a tree followed by about 8 more. I slashed and stabbed at the shax demon in front of me. Tess plunged her seraph blade into a demon as Jem killed off another. We were so lucky that we had weapons with us. I don't understand how this is my first attack. I'm 16. And Tess is 17. It's probably cause mom never let's me out as often as she used to. Maybe this was why. As I killed off another I watched as Jess decapitated a ravener demon. By the Angel. She was something. And she was so perfect. Almost more than me. Oh forget it she'll always be more perfect than me. I need to make a move. I moved over to the spot where she was fighting and fought there. "Hey watch out!" She said killing another that lurked behind me. "Wow you must love me for protecting me!" I said smirking. "Oh shut up you protected me"
"No your idiot brother did. I simply warned you."
"Stop calling my brother names! I know that you too hate each other. And that he does the same. But that doesn't mean you can't stop it!" She said sitting down. The fight was over. "So you wanna go get something to eat?" I said. "Oh will you stop hitting on me?" She said getting up and walking away. "Feisty little girl aren't ya"
"SCHOOLS OUT!" I yelled running out of the school. "FINALLY! No more tests no more homework no more study NO MORE NO MORE NO MORE NO MORE!" I screamed breaking into the song "Hit the Road Jack". And then there was Jessamine. "Hey Jess. You wanna come with me to get a drink?"
"How many times do I have to tell you! I'm not interested in you! Were just friends!"
(Williams POV) "Thanks I'll call you! Hey you! Here's my number! Oh hey don't forget to call me!" This is the life of awesomeness. It the end of school and now all of the girls are gone. Except for that one girl. Tessa Herondale. She lives with me so that's a plus. She was my number one crush. But she doesn't like me, and I don't understand why. Everyone LOVES me! "Hey Tess! Wait up! You wanna hang out later?" I say. "Didn't you just ask like 3 girls to call you? I'm pretty sure you'll be busy later"
"Oh come on Tess! I've been trying to hit on you all school year! Just give me a chance! "Fine. Maybe someday next year!" She says walking away. She really is something. That night at the Institute I went to bed with the door open. I sleep in room across from Tess and she left her door open too. Fantastic. I got an eraser from my beside table, and a marker, and my sketch pad. I open it up to a blank page and write.
(Tess' POV) I'm almost sound asleep when I realize that I left my door open. Oh well as long as Will next door doesn't bother me I'll be fi- then I felt something soft hit my back. I decided to ignore it. Then something bigger bounced off of my back. I abruptly sat up in bed to see an eraser and a basketball on the floor. Then I looked up. Then there was will with a sign that said "Hey" my insides filled with anger. He woke me up in he middle of the night to say, "hey"?!?! I grabbed my sketch pad and furiously scribbled in it.
(William's POV) I smiled as I watched her write back but instead of the words, "I love you!" I saw the words "GET A LIFE!" As soon as I read it she snatched the basketball and threw it back. Then she got her sketch pad and hit the door so that it closed. I'm in love.
