I watched Simon put the cake down into the table that read, "Happy 13th Birthday Anna!" All of them were 13. It seems just like yesterday we were changing the radio stations back and forth on the car ride home from Jem and Will being born. But now they were all 13 and Tess and Sophie were 15. We sang the birthday song and he blew out the candle. And applause. After the party in the institute, it was time for their pool party with all of their school friends invited. Mundanes. But I had to put up with it anyways because I had 3 kids. But I loved all of them. We put up the decorations. The balloon columns, the DJ booth, the snacks in the tiki hut, the giant beach balls and floaties in the massive waterfall pool, and a lot more. We glamoured the institute to make it look like a big house and bought a pool because we currently still had a lot of mundane money from saving everyone's lives during the battle in edom. We don't even have half gone yet. Goodness gracious. During the whole party I stayed inside and watched tv. I don't like talking with mundane parents so I told Clary to tell them that I'm at "work", wherever that is.
I was about to go back to the couch and sit down but my seat was taken. "Oh hello Will. Why don't you go join the others?" Somewhere a couple months before Tess was born, Jem (brother Zachariah) and Tessa Gray had a child named William who was the same age as Tess. And they also had another child named Jess short for Jessa short for Jessamine who was the same age as Willem. "I don't feel like being near Mundanes." He replied. "Okay well I'll just go watch tv in my room" I said walking away awkwardly. How can I be good with children when I still feel like one?
(Willem's POV) "Anna! Stop dodging me you have to attack eventually! Ugh! You nearly killed me!" Anna was my best friend. Besides Jem. But no we didn't love each other, not even one bit! We were (basically) brother and sister. Today we decided to train in the park where my parents used to train. The alcove surrounded by trees separated from everyone else. "Okay let's take a break!" I said breathing heavily. We laid down and rested for a while. Then I realized that it was time. Time to ask her. I've been waiting to for forever but I haven't had the guts to do it. That moment was beautiful. The green lush leaves of the trees gently falling with the small breeze that appeared every now and then. And the bright sunlight that poured through the opening above us. "Anna? Can I ask you something? Well we're best friends. Like brother and sister. And we do everything together. Almost as much as Jem and I but less. And you're like the sister I've always wanted. Well I have a sister but shades shakiness she is the klunkiest piece of schist I have ever seen. So I don't know how else to say this but, will you be my parabatai?"
"Will! Yes yes I will be!" She said tackling me in a hug. "But wait. Shades shakiness?"
"It's an insider with Jem and I. Auto correct hit him like a bus.
"I LIKE IT BETTER WHEN WERE WASTED! IT MAKES IT EASIER TO SAAAAAAAY!" Anna and I screamed at the top of our lungs in the convertible to the song as we sped to Starbucks to celebrate. Mom drove  to Starbucks since we can't drive yet. We walked inside laughing and made a toast to our forever lasting friendship.
