Rebecca awoke to a nurse checking her vitals. "Where's my dad?" Of course the first person she would ask for was her dad.
The nurse smiled kindly. "He went down to the cafeteria for some coffee. He should be back soon."
Rebecca still didn't know what to think. She awoke once, flailing on the bed because of a nightmare that was reality. Then the nurses sedated her. She shuddered.
It was just then that Caden walked into the room and Rebecca could see the dark circles under his eyes, so he broke the silence. "Izzy, Sophie, and your mom are here."
Becca stared at him for a moment before she cleared her voice. "Where are they?"
"In the cafeteria. They should be up in a few." Caden wanted to ask her the question he was dying to ask but couldn't do it.
"I think it's best you leave." Rebecca spoke after a few long minutes. Her eyes then averted to her entwined hands.
"Why?"
"Your toxic Caden. I keep getting hurt because of you. I don't want that. Just please leave me alone."
Before Caden could answer, in walked both her parents, sisters', and Michael while Caden slunk out the room.
