A/N: This chapter is entirely in Amber's point of view. It is important to set the story up. The story line will pick up soon. Just hang in there and follow along. Review and let me know what you think.

Chapter 2

Today had to be the most uneventful day in work history. I don't think anyone was having to work overtime today. I gladly clocked out at 4:30 and rode my bike over to the R.C.C house. On my way to the locker rooms I passed Sara at the front desk. “Hey Sara is everyone here?”

“Yup, Nikki and Jake have the younger kids upstairs helping with their reading skills, the older ones are with Taylor getting some tutoring and those that are done with homework are outside playing basketball with Rob. We sure did miss you last week.

“I missed everyone here too. I was miserable to say the least. I'm going to head up to help Taylor and maybe get my butt handed to me by some of them on the court.” I loved this place. It was a great haven for the kids of the city. There was basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pools, tutoring services and fed my love of helping people. It was rewarding to see a child smile and realize reading was fun and that they could do it too. I was new to the city and in desperate need to find something to do to help me ease my way into the life here and Dr. Dillon introduced me to the staff here. I couldn't believe it had been nearly 3 years and I was still here. I tried to come at least 3 days a week but most of the time I was here for a little bit every day. The best thing was I am only a couple blocks away and can ride my bike from work to here and back home. Time flew and soon it was after 8 and I needed to head home. Home.... I loved my place, I was in the process of making it a home. It was a old abandoned warehouse that I got lucky to purchase for 12,000$. The first thing I did was put a keyless alarm on the door outside and a garage downstairs(Which don't make sense seeing as I don't own a car). Then there is a flight of stairs up the right side of the building that leads up to the main living area. Once inside you are assaulted with the nice cherry hardwood floors and a huge living room. I furnished the area with a huge leather couch with a matching chaise lounge. On one wall was my huge flat screen tv and entertainment center that hid my huge movie collection and blu ray player. Don't tell anyone but my video games are in there too. Love my Wii fit. The opposite wall was the dining room with floor to ceiling windows. My kitchen was furnished with all stainless steel applainces and open faced cabinets. I loved to cook and wanted a gourmet kitchen, so I got one. The main bedroom was a huge sanctuary. The bed was cornered between 2 walls of nothing but windows and then the other wall was a small door that led into the biggest walk in closet with the biggest bathroom you have ever saw. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub and shower with shower jets that hit you from every angle.Did I mention there are floor to ceiling windows in there too? No need for privacy when there is no way too see in these windows unless you are spiderman. The guest room was just as nice as mine and identical except it was done in red and black and white where mine was chocolate brown and lite blue. On my roof top there was room for a party if need be with a garden full of flowers, fruits and vegetables.I managed to fix a quick dinner of lemon pepper chicken and salad and showered and jumped into bed to catch a rerun of The drs. On tv. The episode was about how important it is to have yearly physicals.”Well I guess that's settled. I'll call the doctor's office tomorrow and schedule my yearly exam.” I said out loud to myself.

Drs Dillon and Cullen. How may I help you?

“I need to schedule a check up.”

Name?

“Amber Lane.”

I have a 3:45 with Dr. Cullen and a 1:30 With Dr. Dillon.

“Um I will take the 3:45 with Dr. Cullen seeing how it would be easier to get off work than at 1:30.

I have got you down with Dr. Cullen at 3:45 see you then.

“Well well well. I see you are going to see Dr. Hottie again.” Lisa's comment made me blush slightly

“Yes I need a yearly physical.”

“Right keep telling your self that's the only reason.” she laughed and was gone. I guess that was a plus
