Chapter two

Finally the day arrived, today I will go to London and buy my things for Hogwarts! I was so nervous and excited, I couldn't eat, sleep or even sit quiet on my chair. I wanted to know where we would be going and who would come and help me buy my things and how would the place look like? I did not think that it would look like shops I know from home. Suddenly the door bell rang. Curiously I opened the door. There stood a woman with neon orange hair. "Hi, I'm Tonks!", she said. "Tonks?", I asked. "Yeah, you know actually it's Nymphadora Tonks, but seriously, what's that for a name? Please call me Tonks!" She smiled a bit pained. Ookay, I thought but smiled, too. "So", Tonks said, "I'm here to help you to get all your stuff for Hogwarts, isn't it? You are Hermione Granger?". I nodded and said goodbye to my mom. Then we went outside the door. I looked expectant at Nymph- Tonks. She smiled and went towards a lonely alley. "So now we will travel to Diagon Alley. It's way easier to apparate. So if you please take my arm" she gave me her arm. I laid my hand upon her arm. Suddenly we were at another place. I felt very sick and my legs felt like pudding. Tonks looked down to me. "That was not bad!", she said. I smiled a bit weakly. I looked around. We stood in a small alley, more a corner. Around us was a wall. Tonks now took out her wand, and tapped a few stones. Suddenly the stones disappeared to to the right and left side and make the way free to an alley. On both sides were shops, where youo coould buy anything. I read signs like "Ollivander's best wands", "Eeyelops Owl Emporium" or "Flourish and Blotts". I didn't know where I should look first. Tonks next to me smiled. "First", she said, "We need to go to Gringott's. That's the Wizard's bank. You see we have our own money." I looked shocked. "But how can I buy my things now?", I asked. "Not to worry:", Tonks answered. "You can change your money at Gringott's. Do you brought any muggle-money?" This word again. I remembered Professor McGonagall mentioned it. I looked at Tonks. "Tonks, what is a muggle?" She laughed. "Excuse me, Hermione, but I forgot how less you know about the magical world. A muggle is a nonmagical person." Ah okay, that makes sense. "So", Tonks said. "Let's go to Gringott's." We went through the Diagon Alley until we stopped in front of a big white building. We went inside and I was surprised about the people who work there. "Tonks", I whispered. "What are these for...?" "These are goblins", Tonks replied quietly. I was amazed. But maybe I should start to realize that now everything was possible. After a while we left Gringott's again. I was so full of new impressions, I wondered when I would worked everything out. However, now my bag was full with so called knuts, sickles, and galleons. Tonks next to me was very excited. "I was never in much contact with a real muggle, you know! Tell me everything you kno about them!" I didn't know where to start, so I told her about my life and my school. A few minutes later we arrived at a shop called "Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions". "Here you can get your robes you need for Hogwarts. Just enter and tell Madam Malkin you will go to Hogwarts.", Tonks said to me. !Aren't you coming with me?" I asked, a little bit panicked. Going alone into a wizard's shop kind of scared me for some reason. Tonks smiled apologetic. "Sorry, Hermione, but I have to get a few thinks for myself. I will pick you up here later, okay?" I nodded weakly and said Goodbye. With shaking legs I entered the shop.
