Hermione's POV

"Hermione! Come quickly, there was another attack!" I looked up with a shocked look. "What? Who?" I asked. "Justin Finch-Fletchley. They say it was Potter who did this!" I gasped. That couldn't be true. I hurried outside the Common room, only to ran into Draco. "Draco!" I shouted. "What are you doing out here?" I said a bit coolly. Since all the muggle attacks I dissociate myself a bit from Draco. I could't hear it any more, that we are the next, and all the muggleborns should left Hogwarts. Especially Draco saying it. Draco winced a bit because of my voice. "Hermione" he said. "I really have no idea what is going on! Please can we talk?" I sighted. I just remembered a conversation with Harry a few days ago.

Flashback

I was at the hospital wing, because of my failed Polyjuice Potion. Fortunately, everything went well with Harry and Ron. They just told me what they heart from Draco. "So he really has no idea what is going on." Harry said. Ron  made a bad-tempered face. "I really thought it is this idiot Malfoy! Now we have to think completely new." I nodded quickly, as though I always hoped that it wasn't Draco, of course! "He told us as well who he hoped will be the next victim." Harry started carefully. I looked up. "Who?" I asked, unsure if I really wanted to hear this. Ron looked at Harry with an uncomfortable look. "You" Harry said quietly. My heart stopped for a second or two. "Oh" I started, unsure what I should say now, "Ahm yeah what did you expect? Malfoy's an idiot." Harry looked a me for a long time while I tried to smile and Ron continued to complain about Draco. After a while Ron went back to the Gryffindor common room. Harry waited until he was gone and then looked at me as though he wanted to say something. "What?" I asked. "Do you have any more contact with Malfoy? You seemed really shocked." I tried to smile. "Of course I'm shocked. He wants that I'm petrified. That would shock you. too!" Harry smiled. "No it was different. I know you." I sighted. "Why would I have anymore contact then necessary with Draco?" Harry smiled even more and I knew I said too much. "You said Draco. Come on, Mione. I'm your best friend and you may cozen Ron, but not me. You like him, it's not necessary to deny it. However, please be careful, you may see another Draco Malfoy than he really is." And with these words he went outside and and left me with an irritated feeling. I was very sad because of Draco's words but I was even more impressed by Harry. He didn't even accused me. That's the part I love most about Harry, he trusted me. But can I trust Draco?

"Okay, what do you want to say? I know what you said! You hope that I will be the next victim! Bad lick, that it's Justin and not me, isn't it?" In the end I really shouted. Draco winced. " How did you-? Never mind, Hermione, I said that to Crabbe and Goyle what did you expect would they think if I didn't say something like that? If I would tell them that we are friends? Our friendship can become a grave danger for both of us and I try to protect us, especially you for as long as I can! I don't want you to be attacked, you are the last person I want to be attacked! I don't know what that thing is which tries to kill muggleborns. I'm afraid, Hermione! Because you can be killed and because the other Slytherins can act against me!" Draco seemed so desperate, but I had to shake my head. "I'm sorry Draco. I have to think about that all. I like you, you know that, and I don't want to lose you as a friend, but this year is hard. I live in danger and also have no clue what the monster is. You're a pureblood you don't have to worry..." "That's not true, you no said! Because of our friendship I can be in a great danger as well! I'm something like a blood traitor!" he said angrily. I shook my head again. "Nevermind, I will go now. There's the rumor Harry attacks everyone, and I need to see after my friend. See you, Draco." And with these words I went towards the Great Hall. I sighted and didn't look back. A few tears ran down my cheeks. I wiped them away. I had to focus ob Harry now, that was important.
