Lashay's POVThe smell of bacon causes me to open my eyes slowly and look around to see that I am in my room. I feel my arms wrapped around something and look over to see the huge teddy bear someone named "Trey" gave me.
I sit up and groan from the soreness in my shoulder. I throw my feet over the side of my bed while moving my hair out of my face. I grab my phone to see that a bunch of my friends and some family have texted me telling me to get well soon.
I text them back quickly before getting out of bed and picking a outfit for today. I just stay in my onesie since I have to stay home from work for a week and knowing Mavin and Kera, they won't let me go anywhere. I go into the bathroom and grab a towel and wash my face.
When I'm finished, I grab a scrunchie and put my hair in a low ponytail. I stare in the mirror at myself to see a brown skinned girl with brown eyes staring back at me. I pull down my onesie off my shoulder a little and stare at the stitches in my shoulder. I feel tears start to stream down my face as I stare back at it. I have some threads in my shoulder and more than likely it will leave a mark. This is what I get for being nice. I should have just said I wouldn't take the package.
When I get finished letting out my emotions, I slip on my slippers and start to walk down the stairs towards the kitchen. I look into the kitchen to see my mom and Kera laughing and talking while cooking breakfast. When they see me they both rush over and hug me while saying good morning.
"Shouldn't you be in bed baby? You need to rest." My mom says while stirring some grits in a pot.
"I just wanted to come and see who was here." I say while rubbing my eyes sleepily and sitting on a bar stool.
"Well now you see who it is. Go back to bed." Kera says while putting two Ibuprofens in front of me with a bottle of water. I roll my eyes at her while grabbing the pills off the napkins and swallowing them.
"Shut up heffer. I'm going to stay down here if I want to." I say which causes Kera and my mom to burst out laughing. We all joke and laugh while eating my breakfast and it really lifted my sprits to have my two best friends around.
Yes my mom is my best friend and Im not ashamed to say it. We sit and watch Empire all day since me and mama had to catch up on it.
By the time that we are finished watching all the episodes it was 4 o clock and we were back hungry. Kera gets up and goes into the kitchen while I follow behind her and ask my mother to find us something to watch on tv. I walk into the kitchen to see Kera grabbing some bags of chips out of the cupboard and spreading mayo pieces of bread. She turns and sees me standing behind her and tries to shoo me out the kitchen.
"Go sit down girl! You suppose to be resting. If I let you get hurt yo mama and Mavin going to beat my ass." She says as I try to pick up some cans of drink for us.
"Im not going to get hurt from picking up cans Kera." I say as she takes them out of my hand and sit them on the counter.
"Tell that to Kate." She says while putting ham on the sandwiches and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Who's Kate?" I ask and she turns around while pointing the spoon at me.
"Exactly." She says dramatically and I burst out laughing. She starts laughing with me while putting the things back in the refrigerator. I see her to start to sniff the air and I look at her in confusion as she walks over to me and starts to sniffle me. She pulls back and grins at me like a fool and I look at her weirdly.
