Lashay's POV
"Are you really going back to him?" Kera asks from the doorway of my bedroom.
"I'm not going back to him. He's just going to protect me." I say back while packing my clothes.
"Yeah right." She mumbles. I sigh at her and walk over to my dresser to get my undergarments. I mean I wasn't stupid, I knew what Trey was trying to do with me moving in with him but I know better then to give in that easily.
My phone starts to ring on the bed and I stuff the rest of my clothes in my suitcase before picking it up. I slide to answer and put my bluetooth in my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey baby girl. I'm outside."
I smile at him calling me that but quickly catch myself.
"Ok. And friends don't call each other names like that." I say and he smacks his lips.
"Here we go with this friend bullshit again."
I laugh at the frustration in his voice as I grab my suitcase off the bed.
"That's what we are. And I'm on my way out."
"Believe what you want to ma. Alright I'm waiting."
We both hang up and I shake my head at his statement.
Believe what I want to believe? He is ridiculous.
I walk through the den where Kera and sitting down on the couch. When she sees me she jumps up and walks in front of me.
"Shay you don't need his protection. I can protect you."
I sigh and shrug my purse on my shoulder. I know that she's concerned that I'll fall for him and get hurt again.
"Kera you're barely at home. Nothing going to happen to me baby. He's just going to protect me and that's it."
She gives me a warning look before pulling me into a hug.
"Stay safe girl." She says, giving me a soft squeeze.
"I will. I'll call you, ok?"
She lets go of me and nods. I squeeze her hand assuringly before walking over to the door. I open it to see Trey's car in the driveway.
I look back at Kera and she smiles at me although it looks forced. I smile back and walk down the steps to Trey's car.
As soon as I make it to the passenger door, he gets out and kisses my cheek before taking my suitcase and putting it in his trunk.
I climb into the car and close my door. I look outside my window to see Kera signaling Trey over. He walks up to the steps and it looks like Kera is yelling.
They talk for about 15 minutes until Kera shuts the front door. Trey runs his hands though his hair before jogging to the driver's side of the car.
He opens the door and as soon as he gets in, his cologne feels the car. I fight the urge to breathe it in although that's my favorite cologne that he has.
I turn to the backseat to notice that Piere isn't in his car seat.
"Where's Piere?" I ask as he backs out the driveway.
"Damn I don't even get a hey?"
I look over at him and he's holding his chest like he's hurt. This fool is so dramatic.
