"You are to accompany her," Dean said, "Help her bring the stuff home. That's it." He gave me the address to Chris's old home. "It's about an hour from here."

I reluctantly took the slip of paper.

This was not the way I wanted to spend my Saturday afternoon. I had to drive this Rogue back to her old home to pick up some boxes her family had somehow left behind. How had they not noticed they had left stuff there three months ago?

The more I think about it the more it crawls under my skin. How incompetent can she be?

The highway wasn't traffic filled but there were more cars on the road than usual.

"I called ahead of time so Lina is expecting us," she said in the backseat, "She said it was just a few boxes and she felt better if we just got them out of the house before someone else finds them."

Our eyes met in the rear view mirror and hastily I broke our gaze. She rolled her eyes and stared out the window towards the trees.

"Can I ask you something?" she said tilting her head to the side to act innocent.

"What?"

"What's your relationship with Dean?" she inquired.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you mean?" I asked back.

"Are you gay?" she said bluntly.

Before I could even react to the question, Amon began to cackle. He slapped my shoulder causing me to swerve and hit a pot hole.

"Hey! Not while I'm driving!" I hollered.

"See! It's not just me!" he continued to laugh in his seat. "Even I wondered. See!"

I gripped the steering wheel harder. "Would you shut up! He's practically my brother."

I stopped short when I realized I just dug myself in deeper hole.

"I'm not gay!" I said once more and the car just erupted into a series of side stabbing laughter.

The temperature in my face rose so high I thought it would melt off.

"Puh-leez," Amon said, "If he were, I would have hit that already."

"No you wouldn't have," I said before he could say more.

"Oh?" Amon raised his eyebrow, "Why not?"

I smirked and rolled my eyes. "You're not my type."

Chris snickered then stopped. "Wait? So you're gay?" She pointed stupidly.

"Nope," he said, "I'm bi, baby." The raven haired boy said winking and blowing her a kiss.

She looked unsure and turned back to be. "Should I be worried?" she asked.

"Nah. He likes blondes," I said.

She sat back against the seat. "So I'm good then?"

"Just until you dye your hair blonde," I reassured her.

The last remaining half hour of trip was filled with silence since it seemed the radio stopped working after reaching a certain altitude. There was a cobblestone road that made a dent in the road.

The house was huge. I mean Dean's pack isn't very big and we all live in townhouses but...shit. This was a large house. It wasn't an apartment building but you could tell at least twenty people live in it.

"The more I think about it the more I start to not regret it," she said softly. "This belonged to my family."

I tried to make it not so discreet as I looked into the mirror one more time. Her head was turned to face the house. Her eyes were low but her mouth was twisted into a grimace. She was the first one to get out of the car.
