While I'm walking to my first class I run into Ryan. We started walking together and I tried to start a conversation.

"So, how're your classes going?" I ask. Ryan shrugs.

"Oh come on. Nothing exciting?" I shove him. He just shrugs again.

"Nothing? No friends, no giiirl?" I poke him. His eyes widen.

"What? No! Why are you asking me that?" His voice raises higher as he stumbles. I smile.

"I'm just trying to get you to talk."

"I don't like talking." His deep, quiet voice shows it.

"Well, you're gonna have to get used to it if you're gonna be friends with me." I smile, and for once, he smiles back.

"See. That's the spirit."

"You're kind of perky, you know that?" He asks me.

"No, I'm usually an annoying negative little shit, but I'll be the perkiest damn person you've ever met if you're not talking."

"Okay, okay. See." He rolls his eyes and gives a lazy smile.

"Much better." I nod.

"Can you stop being perky now? I'd prefer the negative little shit over the Perky Polly."

"Perky Polly?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Never mind." He shakes his head.

We walk for a while until I remember the Hell I've set up for myself this Friday.

"Hey, what do you think about rollercoasters?"

"Hell no. They are fucking death traps."

"See, I think the same thing, but Brendon and I are supposed to go to that little Adventure Land this Friday."

"Brendon likes rollercoasters."

"Well I don't. But there's nothing else do to."

"I don't know how to help you."

I thought for only a split second until I blabbered. "Just go with us!"

"What?! No, I hate rollercoasters."

"Please, Ryan. I'll pay for your ticket."

"How am I even going to help?"

"I don't know, just go so I'm not alone."

"Brendon will be there."

"I know, but he loves rollercoasters. How about this, I'll invite my roommate Audrey so it'll be like a double date."

"Audrey? Audrey Kitching? Hell no."

"Please Ryan."

"Fucking hell." He sighs.

"Thank you." I smile.

I realized I probably should have asked Brendon before inviting Ryan to our date, but he'll just have to live with it. I'm the one sacrificing my well-being on a shitty rollercoaster all for our date.

"Audrey." I say seriously on the phone. I'm being shoved around by crowds of people as we switch from first to second period.

"Riley." I hear back.

"This Friday, You, me, Brendon Urie and Ryan..." What's Ryan's last name?

"Ross?" She finishes.

"Yes, him. We're going to that little amusement park. I'll pay for your ticket. Just go, please."

"Are you too scared to go on a one-on-one date with Urie?" She says with a laugh.

"No, I fucking hate rollercoasters and I don't want to be alone. Just do it."

"I don't have to pay?"

"No, all on me."

"Fine."

"Thank you."

Third period rolls around and I decided to ask Brendon if he was okay with other people coming.

"So I was gonna surprise you but it turns out this town is boring as hell and only has like one thing to do for fun." He raises his eyebrow.

"But the problem is, I fucking hate rollercoasters." I explain.

"Oh." He nods. "Well we don't have to do that if you don't want to. We can just watch a movie or something."

"But that's boring. So I decided I'd just toughen up and invited Audrey and Ryan so it was like a double date."

"Ryan and Audrey? That's gonna be hilarious." He laughs.

"So you're okay with it?"

"Yeah, it's fine. It'll be fun."

Maybe fun for him, but for me? No.

I smile at his enthusiasm of Ryan's awkward date I've set him with. His dark brown eyes are sparkling, and I realize he's been looking at me longingly this whole time. I walk forward and kiss him, just before the bell rings. The kiss was short, but passionate, like we've been wanting to do that all day, and I have.

'we still haven't even thought of a plot yet'

'there doesnt have to be a plot in poems' I reply.

'but there has to be an IDEA'

'whatever just come to my room then'

'ok bossy'

A few minutes later, Ryan finally gets to my dorm and sits quietly on my bed.

I've noticed that having him over and having Brendon over are two very different situations. Brendon comes in, plops on my bed and we end up exchanging our smart remarks and sooner or later, those remarks get flirty and we're making out. Ryan comes in, sits cautiously, and it's a few minutes of silence until it gets late and he has to leave. Maybe Ryan's just a little less comfortable with me. He seems to like talking to me, but doesn't know how to.

"Do I make you nervous?" I ask breaking our very familiar silence.

"What? No, why would you think that?" He answers calmly.

"I don't know, you just seem to not want to talk a lot. You don't act like you hate talking when we do, but you never try to talk."

"I don't know, I'm just not good at starting conversations."

"Don't worry about that. Just talk when you want to. Don't be so shy."

"I'm not shy, I just keep my words to a limit." He shrugs.

"Why?"

"I like to save it for writing."

"That sounded pretty cheesy."

"Yeah, it did." He laughs.

"But I get it, I guess. Just don't be so shy. Even if you like keeping your words for writing, you can talk if you want to." He nods with a slight smile and I smile back overly cheeky so he'll smile bigger. His teeth finally show and he shakes his head.

"Just get to work." He says through a small laugh.

"Bossy." I mumble.
